no need to apologize 11t - i got no issues with you at all and you did nothing wrong as far as i'm concerned
i'm unsure why pointing out your fabricated historical references or my belief that children shouldn't transition secretly without parental awareness would cause you to be revolted by me enough to leave
other than when you made up historical stuff, you were otherwise an excellent poster there who stayed clear of binary viewpoints as you clearly understood nuance and flexibility - something few there are capable of and I was quite happy to see your introduction to the thread because it's otherwise the same group of idiots on two different sides just pushing back and forth and building strawmen with zero progress at all towards anything - it's just a shouting match
there were some genuinely anti-trans people itt before but they've all been banned, at this point it's mostly discussing the science behind child transition - which i'm sure we can all agree should never be a cut and dry subject
i'm sure if we met in real life and hung out you'd like me just fine
I'm not revolted by you. I think you are wrong and have done enough due diligence that arguing with you online is futile. It's nothing personal, I'd rather maintain friendly relationships. We are human beings, I'm sure there's a lot of stuff we agree on. Disagreeing is kind of a waste of time.

For reals - wtf is DDP yoga? (tried pornhub search and even more confused now)
Just weighed in at 230 - haven’t exercised in 3 years. I think it is time to get back to it.
3 year bulk phase complete.
Who is still working out ITT?
The Globogym bros are what passes for my social life. Only people I really talk to regularly outside of work.
Friday run has moved inside.
Last night I got 4 miles and burned 500 fictional treadmill calories.
My friend had/has a lot of back problems and got very into DDP’s yoga program. He went from barely working out ever to not missing a day in over 3 years. Considering the back issues, maybe it could be worth checking out.

Is Kimberly Paige involved?
I played rugby at 185lbs.
Rowing I wanted to be heavier because all the best indoor guys were far taller and heavier and the extra weight makes a difference. Plus it’s fun to eat what you want, when you want to
Nephew Walking picked a sport, he decided he wants to row a boat.
Maybe not a bad plan. The token ponytail at globogym spent her session on the rowing torture rack.
It's a yoga program put together by former 'rassler Diamond Dallas Page. It's a more intense yoga with more of a cardio element to it. It also has a lot of workouts and exercises designed for those recovering from injuries or who have other mobility issues.
11, if you’ve gone it already in that thread then pl direct us there but if not and if you feel comfortable doing it, could you pl give a summary of the process of realisation, acceptance, external communication etc with your ‘coming out’ as transgender? And how it is for you know, in terms of interacting with family, friends, colleagues etc?
Apologies if terminology is incorrect
11t, welcome back. You can talk about your journey if you want or link where you discussed it. It is up to you.
MOD WARNING
This is not the forum to discuss whether that journey is right/wrong or any generalizations about people going through a similar journey. My expectations are that the tone will be the same as with SPC's race through America. Don't even go near the line.
Yeah I'll post later, have my son all day today and going to the zoo. The topic in that thread didn't get aggressive on my end, I merely stated the obvious downside to the recent California law and that parents have a moral obligation to have basically all available information about their children. You can't outlaw shitty parents, it's just not possible. You have to allow good parents the ability to raise their children properly.
Also if a child has a "secret" to tell the school staff they should be directed at a guidance counselor who has the requisite training in whether or not parents or the police should be informed of what they are told.

yeah this is why i was super happy with your appearance in the thread - that was what i was referring to about understanding nuance - you can't just replace parents with the state because of a non-zero chance the parents are bad people
Speaking of SPC's race, JV seems to be lost. I'm guessing he might be calling it quits. Rest of the group is plugging along, with the front of the folks who haven't finished yet being in Indiana, and the back most of the way through Iowa.
I would definitely be in the "still in indiana" cohort had i raced
massive props to spc, just insane what she accomplished
What kind of race is this? Bicycle?

Great American Wheel Race:
I suggest reading the chat thread for the previous month or so if you are interested.
A "bicycle race" doesn't begin to describe it.
University of YouTube let me down for the first time in quite a while. Riding mower broke down. Turning only work from mild left turn to full left turn. Trying to straighten out or go right and the steering wheel felt like it hit a limiting block.
Looked at a bunch of vids on YouTube, and watched half-a-dozen that seemed promising, but nobody was describing the same problem I was having. Only one even came close. I was running into a part that was filling a hole in the frame and was falling down far enough to block the turning plate. If I pried the plate down far enough, I could turn the wheel and the plate would slide under the part, but as soon as I turned left, it would happen again.
After giving up on a YouTube solution, I drove it into the garage, in the best cheap remote-control car from the 70s "turns in reverse" style, and just started tinkering. Turns out, that part was some sort of bushing that wasn't connected to anything. It just sat in a hole in the frame. The other side of the frame above the turning plate had a similar hole with nothing in it. So I took out the bushing. Everything works fine now, but I'm mystified as to what that bushing was supposed to do and why it was there. Any guesses?

Those zany sports class riders are up to some shenanigans:
https://ragbrai.com/ is an annual alcohol infused party ride across iowa and JV wants to ride with some partiers so he detoured and will go across iowa with that crew and rejoin the course once he crosses the hawkeye state.
SPC discovered that she is elite when it comes to endurance stuff. She entered a cross country bike race on gravel and trails that was 3,616 miles long and won the womens division 4th overall. This ride was in preperation for the world championship 24 hr time trial in november where she hopes to beat the womens course record.

I actually have a friend riding in that at the moment as part of the Air Force team. Beacuse they are all wearing jerseys, I guess it counts as recruiting duty...
For some reason, I thought RAGBRAI went East to West probably based mostly on what direction I was traveling when road closures for it made me detour. Does it switch up from year to year, or was I just always envisioning it going the wrong way?
Nope. Riders dip their tires in the Missouri at the start, and the Mississippi at the end.
As squid says, it's a rolling party. The route changes every year. Each little town along the way has food/drink/etc for the riders. Each day, some town will be the endpoint. They'll typically have a large area (city park or some such) for the bikers to camp in.
Went to school in DSM, and got stuck there for many years afterward. It was always a huge deal in the local media.

That's awesome, congratulations!
