Almost nobody doing that in the states anymore. It's all been off-shored. Low end stuff comes out of the Indian subcontinent and high end out of Eastern Europe.

You know I hate Garret, I just can’t stand the guy. I don’t like listening to him and he looks generic and that j4 hand I think he was just being butthurt and egocentric.

But still, he has my respect. It’s that one hand dude. The day, the day he had pocket jack, turns a set. And there’s this new guy, new poker player, getting his shot at the nose bleed stakes.

And he’s in pain with a strong ace about calling it off or not. And at the same times the commentators talks about how this new poker guy is taking is shot, Garrett eventually tells him that he has it. The guy folds and life goes on. When they interview Garrett, he says no comment… but me, me I assume that he just gets it, Garrett probably has been there at some point taking a shot at the bigger game, and how much each decision has life changing directions, and that you don’t wanna jump back down with a ton of grind. I assume he was being kind that day, and he let him off the hook, and I was like oh woah Garrett is the man today. He’s one of us, he likes playing poker.

What was the ninja deleted shot against Squiddy the other day all about?

Gandwhatthehellamigoingtodowithallthispopcorn?G

Wee! Went to grill up some wings for a work function. Checking on the grill preheat and it's got smoke billowing out and the temp is about 700 (f). Open the lid and greeted by a beautiful grease fire with flames going from the bottom of the pan all the way through the grill and up another couple of inches.

Sure glad I hadn't put the wings on yet.

Let's let deleted shots lie.

Fair enough.

Playing my second last session of pokrs for this month after work. 13 winning months in a row, but currently stuck $167 on this one. Will be folding KQo in every spot.

We just set out for bulk-trash pickup our ~10yo grill that died in a similar grease fire. I guess there is a reason to trim the fat off the brisket before cooking. Thermometer, side burner, ignitors all kaputt. Could still light it by hand, but was a yuge PITA even with a long grill lighter.

Grill was snatched off the pile after ~12 hours, lasting longer than I expected it to. Gaming chair (busted) and 1 of 2 bookshelves (old and cheap) also snatched.

One of my least fave chores is deep cleaning the grill.

You know you can replace the igniter pretty easily, no? Still, perhaps not worth it if already ten years old and given other problems.

Just light the grease on fire. Self-cleaning, imo.

Just think has quickly they'd be done, though.

On the StarTalk podcast a while back, Neil DeGrasse Tyson mentioned he'd done a calculation in the past: if you set a pepperoni pizza on some theoretical window ledge on Venus, how quickly would it be done? (I can't remember why this was germane to the discussion).

IIRC, the answer was seven seconds.

I wouldn't eat it though. That sulfuric acid atmosphere likely not good for the 'za.

Yeah, that's gonna be some serious heartburn.

I spent half the day cleaning.

That’s because this morning I was decided. No excuses this morning, I start the day with stretches. Somehow it drove me to do a lot of cleaning. It also helped my lower back, felt so good. I feel a lot of benefits to have did this 10 minutes of stretches.

It’s crazy how it helps to just move a little bit.

I washed the walls with disinfectant, washed the floor like five times. It wasn’t a great day but it will pay long term.

I started to sand the pc desk, but after 10 minutes of doing that I realized that the burnt spots were too deep, I’ll keep it like this until I can afford a new one. At least it’s cleaner now. It will do good for me to live in a clean place.

Did you just admit to grilling a brisket?

It's hard for me to imagine anybody being legit upset with squid. Maybe the occasional, good-natured tease, but nothing serious.

I did! 700 degree cleaning cycle burned off all the grease nicely.
