I hope this is a ref to Turtle's driving experience and not a true TR. If the latter, I hope it's in OK condition when they find it abandoned in a few days.
I've had two troops whose cars were stolen, and both were recovered still drivable, but one had a couple of new dents, and the other reeked of pot and had some sketchy trash in it.
The remainder
I am not buying the teens joyriding theory because they went into a crowded apt complex parking lot (no cameras ofc) and picked my still_not_nicknamed Hyundai Santa Fe Sport out of 200.
oh fack, sorry i thought you were riffing
my condolences
does insurance cover it?
what is that left behind?????
Sorry to hear, DMW
Very sorry to hear, DMW. That is the absolute worst.
It from the "easily hotwireable" year group (2013-2018, for the Sante Fe Sport, as I understand it)?
If so, seeking your specific car out doesn't make joyriders less likely, but rather maybe even more. There was even a social media buzz about stealing those models last year.

I would have preferred the Big Lebowski cop to the 1st year robocop who told me how to fill out a form. Neither would care about the shattered evidence there on the pavement.
I am sending papers like maintenance records to the insurance co. I have been warned to prepare for 75% of an equivalent replacement.
Shows what I know, I thought you still broke into the dashboard and pressed two wires together. I had a bunch of mail from Hyundai including a recall and a class action suit over the ant-theft recall. Probably should have acted on those.
****ers didn't have the decency to leave my piano sheet music behind.

what city are you in if you're comfortable disclosing?
and what was that shattered stuff on the pavement - i want to say window but it says hyundai on it
Yeah, that's a window. They have ID stuff printed on them these days.
smashed window screams amateur to me, unless the old coathanger trick is no longer useful on cars and now only good for clothing and abortions
Coathangers rarely work anymore, but slim jims (the tool, not the "meat" snack) still do. In many states, though, if you have those and aren't a tow-truck driver/repo man, they are considered burglary tools and you can either be arrested for just that, or it can lead to an enhanced penalty for the theft itself.
Smashed window stolen Hyundai/Kia is usually a joyrider.
Hope it turns up soon in good condition
DMW have you considered moving to a better neighborhood?

i read that as a response to the abortions comment
Question for Squid, Rick, anyone else itt who is/was in the advantage gambling world...
do you guys know of anyone who beats/has beaten baccarat in the same way that people beat BJ, occasional other ways to beat other casino games? (outside of the Ivey type of spotting anomalies with particular card designs)
there's a long term tourney poker player in/around our room and Australia. Quite prominent in the global game too and quite wealthy despite 'only' ever being in the gambling world. . And I've heard for years about how he beats high stakes baccarat from a variety of sources who a) know him well and b) are smarter and less gullible than most of the people you meet in the poker room. Guys with white collar businesses or who run big trading desks etc
it still feels likely it's a myth that has been created and perpetuated and actually, he's walked backwards into a ton of money by some other method, but I'm interested if you guys know of anyone beating that game?
anything is possible and if someone found an exploit, they'd be idiots to ever disclose it - if you're talking about mikki mase that guy is 100% a scammer just pretending to have an edge
what ivey did was called edge sorting - something which is well known but he got away with it because he's a well known pit game degenerate and they had certain rules that all dealers must be fluent in Chinese so his Chinese partner could better direct them to be unconscious partners and the management wouldn't exactly know what was being discussed despite that the demand to be able to instruct the dealers to turn certain cards certain ways and then never turn them ever again was written down beforehand - being able to remind the dealer in mandarin "hey don't do that, remember this isn't a normal situation, we're superstitious so the cards must not be rotated ever again"
also decent chance the casinos knew what he was doing and just decided to freeroll him - happens all the time in sports betting where the book has a bad line and waits until the end of the game to decide to honor the bets placed on that or to void it as a bad line
there is a +EV scenario in baccarat that I know of in making side bets if you do a certain count https://wizardofodds.com/games/baccarat/... but it's so low EV and high variance that nobody thinks it's worthwhile
for example, when i googled that, i also saw this, where 888 casino actively encourages you to count cards in baccarat to try to beat it and shares an article written by the same guy who wrote for wizard of odds lol https://www.888casino.com/blog/side-bets...
given that people talk about it etc, i have a tough time believing he discovered something secret and managed to keep it secret while also letting it be known he beats baccarat
baccarat is also insanely low house edge, if you took 1,000 people and had them play it, quite a few would be big winners over a large sample
the most likely scenario if he's legit is that he's a high roller and because of that, he was able to negotiate enough perks with a naive pit boss that killed the house edge, like simply getting a rebate on losing sessions alone would make it profitable to play - this guy made millions doing that with blackjack and it took a while for the casinos to realize just exactly what edge they gave up to him https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Don_Johnso...
oh yeah, thanks to your purdue boys sucking I'm much less poor tonight gman
thank you for your service
but for real, was highly leveraged on UConn and UConn championship derivatives, tonight is a fantastic night for your boy rick
Congrats, mango. Im not mad. Didn't even know the outcome until I read it here.
I could be wrong, but I think people get much more excited about the school they get a bachelor's from than any grad school they go to, sports wise.
Thats true for me, my law school won the frozen four twice when I was in school and twice since, and I can't be bothered.

There's this guy who claims to consistently win at high stakes: https://wizardofvegas.com/forum/gambling... . Lots of skepticism though.

A quaint little town called "Scottsdale." What everyone pictures is actually north Scottsdale. It's a noodle shaped town and the southside where I live was historically a barrio.
Several people suggested I go north, but they don't say where to get old money.
If it's old money you're after, may I suggest buried treasure?
Congrats on your year Donatello!
How's the pokrz going Turtle, getting in many sessions / crushing / etc.?
