Bet-sizing with The Insurrection ($2-$100 spread-limit)

Bet-sizing with The Insurrection ($2-$100 spread-limit)

Blinds are $1-$2, but game is $2-$100 spread-limit, where the most you can raise is $100 over the previous bet.

I have $400, both Villains cover.

Blinds are $1-$2. Before the cards are dealt, V1–who’s UTG—announces he’s putting out a “Dead $10”, essentially raising to $10 without looking at his hand. (If people call the $10, he does NOT get an option.)

V2 (in UTG2) calls the $10. Folds to me on the Button with Js6s and I see $25 out there and raise to $40. Both blinds fold, but V1 defends by calling. V2 folds. Ok plan B.

FLOP: 8h7s5d (pot: $90, heads-up)

Villain checks. It’s a terrible flop for our range, but a pretty good one for our specific garbage hand.

QUESTION 1: Check, bet $30, bet $60, or bet $100?

I opted to bet $30. Villain called.

TURN: 8h7s5d 9c (pot: $150)

We hit a straight with a gutter to a higher straight.

Villain checks again.

QUESTION 2: Check, bet $50, or bet $100?

QUESTION 3: If we bet and Villain check-raises, do we re-raise to try to get it all-in with a potential free-roll, or just call?

Thank you.

Bet $100. Of course pile money in.

I check flop through. Now I'm making it 100. Going AI.

Villain checks

RESULT:

I bet $70 and Villain snap-folds.

Why did you raise pre? People who dark raise are gonna defend their “straddle” really wide.
