Vulnerable overpair vs action player

Vulnerable overpair vs action player

2/3/5, $1000

UTG limps

UTG1 is a whale who's playing basically every hand and bluffing his misses very very often. He covers me. He opens to 35.

I call, UTG calls

Flop 832r. Check, UTG1 bets 45. I call UTG folds.

Turn 7, UTG1 320

Raise/call/fold? Should I have raised earlier?

Might want to tell us your hand, and position. Suit of the 7?

LOL I forgot.
I have 99 in the cutoff. 7 is a heart, so there are 2 hearts.

Raise or fold pre

If the UTG straddle is on, I prefer to 3b! pre.

AP, I'd rather just call flop multi-way.

Turn overbet seems like a semi-bluff with overcard hearts or vulnerable overpairs - TT/JJ, maybe QQ. I think he value bets his AA, KK.

In any case, we are dead to his overpairs and a decent favorite against the overcard semi-bluff FDs. Unfortunately, I just think he has more combos of overpairs than overcard FDs.

We get 5-3 on the call, which isn't a good enough price. Sigh fold. I think the error was not 3b! preflop to define ATC V's range better.

Our 99 is basically a bluff catcher. Doesn't seem like our hand is strong enough to call the big turn over-bet. Probably just fold now.

low effort OP - hand? position? stacks?

More like low effort grunching, amirite?

Give pot size too.

I’d call or 3bet if open raise was 3x but fold pre to 7x open. Fold turn.
