Live poker, how to play in a casino.
I am a breakevenish 2nl player over about 20k hand sample.
i really want to play live poker, but not knowing how casino based stuff works makes me turn away.
i know things like the 1 chip rule. but things i dont know about are things like
1. how do the rake work? online, its very simple. is it literally the same? what about the "drop"?
2. how do all these jackpot based promos work? such as the high hand? bad beat, etc
3. how do i change tables if i want to? or change seats?
4. taking a break really quick. wat do i do? just stand up and the dealer will know not to deal me in? what if i want to go eat for like 45 min?
5. racking up. do i go walk back to the cage to get some racks?
6. am i allowed to take chips "back" when raising? i.e. 1/3 game. folds to SB who completes. i have 3 blues ($1 chips) out for my big bling. i want to raise to $20. if i dont verbalizing anything, can i put down 4 reds, and slide back the 3 blues? or will that be considered more than 1 action, and be considered raising to $23?
7. if someone asks me "how much do you have behind" wtf do i do? what if i want to see how much they have? how can i be sure they dont have big chips accidentally hidden?
8. how do the food and drinks work when im at the table? i.e. i order a soda. or water. or even alcohol. same as a restaurant? can i pay with chips in general, or even chips on the table? how do i know if something is free? (like a waterbottle atleast)
etc etc
do i just generally ask the floor/desk these questions?
