2/5/10. 500 eff. 9’s UTG

Hero opens with 9’s UTG for 35. Hero gets 3, maybe 4 callers. There were so many I can’t even remember. Straddle 3!’s to 150.

(I left out approximately the same number of letters as you did info in your OP, so you can either interpret it as "ship it" or "****"...)

Depends mainly on stack depth. This has become a pure set mine which is rather pointless if shallow, although that's slightly offset if you think a few callers will come along (the squeeze size is too small). Your position won't be great so I don't hate a fold, but if you call you'll probably get some other callers and set yourself a decent price. All this is dependent on you having the discipline to pile money in on a 9xx flop and check-fold anything else.

Flip a coin. Heads, jam. Tails, fold. Lands on its edge, turn your cards face up and call.

It's always a bit scary when a player who gets a great price to just complete (which is the case here), still choose to raise. Normally I would assume that is quite a nutted hand, especially if they are the one only being $500 effective. If so, the straddler has essentially commited their whole stack.

You also raised from UTG, and it sounds like it was a fairly full table given all the callers. That said, would need more info on the straddler to conclude with more certainty.

What would I do? Irrelevant; I would never be in this spot in the first place. I have played far too many tournaments to open for such a ridiculously large size when I am only 50 straddles deep.
