5/5 AJs on A55K board

5/5 AJs on A55K board

5/5

$700 effective

V -Loose passive player. He tends to call a lot preflop with some goofy hands like 54o and then continue with a gutshot.

Hero AJ raises to $20, V(BU) calls

Flop($50) A 5 5

Hero bets $25, V calls

Turn($100) K

Hero - ???

This card improves my range, but now my AJ isn't good anymore against any ace. What can I get value from?

I'd continue to bet, probably 2/3 pot or more.

You can get value from Kx, heart draws, worse spade draws, and non-believing PP's. You can also improve to a better 2P on a J, a flush on a spade, and a boat on another A or 5.

Mostly check flop, at least at this size.

Turn is pretty 50/50. It’s not purely a value bet (I’m checking almost all AJ- without a FD), but playing OOP OTT isn’t purely about value vs bluffs. You’d just like a stronger mix of hands for when the pot gets bigger and don’t need as strong a mix of hands for when it’s smaller.

We can bet call and sometimes have a good spot vs other Ax, I would bet 50.
