5/5 KQ on AKJ board

5/5 KQ on AKJ board

5/5

~$1000 effective

V is a loose, tricky opponent. He has a wide preflop range and can sometimes be aggressive postflop with draws, trying to steal pots in 3-4 way situations. If he has a piece of the board, you will know it, but he plays pretty carefully. However, I cannot really remember how he played the nuts.

Hero KQ(UTG) opens to $20, V(BB) calls

Flop($45) A K J

V leads for $40, Hero calls

Turn($125) 5

V checks, Hero - ???

At this point, I'm thinking that his check is very weak. Like I said, when this guy has a piece of the board, he usually tends to bet. I feel like his checking range is Ax and draws.

I block KJ (he can be careful if it smells bad for him) and QT.

We check? We bet here? 80-100?

River?

If you do bet don't bet 80 to 100 bet like 50 or check and I wouldn't read too much into the fact that you block bottom two. He has plenty of Ax's that he's probably just trying to get to SD with and I'm not even sure if I would call the pot sized flop bet vs that guy in a 5 way hand but that's just me.

It’s a spot where you can rep so much but also there are so many hands with middling equity to choose from that you’re just mixing with a lot of different hands. This is one of the hands that’s fine to bet some frequency. But if you’re not someone who mixes, you need to check it.

Regardless, it’s not quite a bluff. You should check back a blank river and save your bluffs for Jx-

Sizing should just be your standard 1/2p float. You can’t play too polar after you just flatted the flop.

Bet 55, might also raise flop small like 115 total.
