Line check, emptying the clip when I miss the world 1/2NL

1/2 8 handed. Played 1 orbit and first hand, V is recreational.
H in HJ with £250. V on BTN with £160

H has 10c8c raises to £8. LJ calls, BTN calls, SB calls. Pot is £26

Flop 9c7c5d

H bets £15, LJ folds, BTN calls, SB folds, Pot is £56

Turn 5h

H bets £35, BTN calls. Pot is £126

River is 2d.

Hero bets £80, BTN tanks for ages and eventually calls. Not sure I should have just given up on river or made it £105 for his entire stack? Perhaps check back turn for pot control?

Fold pre

You can't check back when the button is last to act! And why is he playing before LJ?!

Problem with the final Street is you have you want him to have ie busted clubs. On the other hand you have literally your worst hand so makes sense to bluff.

As long as you play your pp the same way it's ok

I mean, in a vacuum it can’t be too bad to bluff an OESFD on the flop and turn and can’t be too bad to bluff T-high on the river, but I guarantee you’re overbluffing here and have problems with your range overall.

It’s really easy to snap you off here with every draw and over card whiffing, and the population tendency is to do exactly that.

BTW: Positions go button, cutoff (1 seat from button), hijack (2 seats from button), then lojack (3 from the button). So are you HJ against CO or LJ going against HJ?

Not trying to be pedantic, it matters for the Preflop open. It’s too light from LJ, fine from HJ.

Fine but I prefer a flop check-raise. Otherwise hand is played fine in general, third barrel should be enough to get a lot of players off top pair. Perhaps this low stakes rec player won't fold top pair but you should fold out everything else with your Ten high (remember you still lost to some of his missed draws so need to flush those out as well as the pairs). Having a huge draw doesn't need you're entitled to bluff at the end but in this case it's justified.

Other streets including preflop are fine

This is fine. I think THIS is a draw that bluffs River MORE than, say, a missed Nut Flush Draw (which is more likely to check/give up), both because we want V to have had the NFD, and because, when we have the NFD, we can occasionally win at showdown unimproved (when the V has Tc8c, for instance.)

I would play it about as OP did. This is a really good spot to bluff the river, but you need to be conservative with big bluffs, as people don't like to fold at low stakes.
