Has the time finally come? Bottom set in 3-bet pot
Blinds $1-$2, game $2-$100 spread-limit, where the max you can raise is $100 over the previous bet. This will matter.
I have $600, V covers.
HAND: couple limps, I raise 99 to $14 in the CO, SB 3-bets to $40, only I call, heads-up:
FLOP: AhTd9s (pot: $80, heads-up) Villain checks, I bet $30, he calls.
TURN: AhTd9s 4h (pot: $140). V leads for $30. I raise to $130. He reraises to $230.
We??? If ever there was a time for it it’s now, right?

What!? How is this anything but a bigger set? You think AK 3bets the turn?
Isn't the combination of the flop check call and turn $30 lead just screaming "I have aces"? Maybe I'm being results oriented but back in my limit days I would be so incredibly tempted to open fold the flop closing the action, lmao.
Call, call river
Think you gotta bet bigger on the flop.
Calling down max $200 to win $800 feels like a good price to showdown 3rd set with not straights or flushes on the board…

RESULT: shared this hand because it’s the closest I’ve ever come to folding a set (on a board with no flushes/straights)—I honestly think if this had been actual no-limit I would have been able to. But, instead I decided “I guess I just lose?” and flick in the call.
RIVER is an offsuit Queen and he bets another $100, I call again and he flips over Ace-King, lol.
