When facing a late position open are huge 3-bets from the blinds a thing?
I'm talking 3! to $75-80 vs a $15 open from late at 100BB deep.

The gto sizing on HU preflop 3 bets is mostly 3.5x IP and 5x OOP.
If I'm not mistaken, that sizing is actually fine from the big blind. Small blind and big blind 3! to different sizes because of the nature of the ranges. You 3! linear from SB, and closer to 4X. While your range is more polar from the BB, since you can just call and close action with medium strength hands. So that's why the BB can 3! like 5X
Yes 4x is more standard but I wouldn't even blink at someone going to 5x
