Recently started playing low stakes live again, how bad is this fold in vaccum?
Hey all, playing the local pub 1/1 game cap is 200. General pop is very loose passive and will call with weak/medium hands and raise their strong hands with very little bluffs, you know the standard splashy recreational type.
I havent played much in the last 2 years but used to frequent this pub a fair bit and i dont recognise the villian in this hand. Hand was in the first orbit of sitting down so no real reads. Effective stack $180

UTG limps, UTG+1 makes it 4, i make it 20 next to act with KK and the player to my direct left cold calls (MP?) folds back to UTG who limp raises to 60 and folds to me and i decide to flat (thoughts below) & MP also flats.
Flop Q98 rainbow, utg bets out for 60 again and i just tanked folded and mp folded behind. So my thoughts were that preflop i thought about just ripping but i block AK and and while i do think the gen pop would also back raise with QQ i think it leans much heavier towards AA so i just flat as i honestly thought MP behind would fold and we could gii with qq on most flops.
On the flop i dont beat QQ anymore and thought about just peeling as he only bet 60 but i was trying to think of a good card that id be happy to gii on the turn and it was just the remaining kings so it felt like set mining the turn for $60. One of the main reasons i folded was as soon as he limped raises i had an instinct that it was AA and i just ended up listening to it.

Fold or shove pre and given a limp 4b from a presumably loose passive I wouldn’t fault you for folding. Shove is standard of course.
it's a bad fold villain could have limp/reraised with AQ and be continuing with that hand.
Just rip it preflop and get your wallet out
without reads, I would fold preflop to the UTG limp/4-bet. I know it is exploitable.
Just shove pre and prepare to reload. I never fold KK pre because, nine handed, your KK runs into AA only one in twenty times. A rec who tires of getting four callers oop with AK, he could very well limp-4bet. So could QQ. People spazz all the time with AQ. Maybe V is on tilt with a wide range. Only losing players and GG limp 4bet. Shoving exploits them.
