Should I be playing my hand or the board at live 1/2?
For example my hand is AJs. Im the PFR.
And the flop is J72r. (3 handed)
The book says to bet 25-33% here as it's a dry board.
Should i toss that out the window and go like 75%-90% pot? (Im talking vs the average 1/2 players who way overcall)
But lets say i have A7s on the same board. Should i only go 33-50% pot?
I guess im asking do I get max value by betting based on the board texture or based on the strength of my actual hand?
Will these 1/2 players be able to pick up on these telegraphed bets?

Why are you assuming that your average 1-3 player is going to call a large bet on this flop without at least a J in his hand?
Why are you also assuming that people playing with you won't eventually notice that you're sizing your bets based on your hand strength?
Im more so thinking about calling stations here.
I can def see a calling station calling with a 7 or maybe even a 2.
Or some shitty 55 pocket pair.
Vs a decent player i would play the board more so than my hand

What kind of hands with a 2 are people calling raises with preflop?
In fact, while you're focusing on both the board and your own hand, I don't see you trying to come up with a range of hands for your opponents.
Generally I'd c-bet smaller on the flop, to cap our opponent's range, then size up on the turn.
It's not so much that 1/2 players are going to quickly pick up on your sizing tells, but more that low stakes players are instinctively price sensitive about calling bets, based on the strength of their own hand.
I'd rather go big when we have an over-pair to the board, unblocking top pair, than go big when we have TPTK, blocking top pair.
As the pfr, the strength of your hand determines whether to bet but not how much. How much to bet depends on the number of players, the type of players, and the texture of the flop.
Bet smaller multiway. Bet smaller on dry/static flops. Bet larger on wet/ dynamic flops, both when you have a draw and when you don’t. Bet larger with TP type hands against a calling station.
As the pfr with TPTK on a dry flop three handed with a calling station oop, I am still betting only 33 to 40 percent. Before I would bet large here, I’d want some good reads that a V calls Jx wide preflop and will call a large flop bet with hands like J8 or A7.
That makes a lot of sense thanks
Vs strong players we okay our range vs their range. Vs weaker players we play our hand vs their range.
If people way overcall then yes bet more with value when weaker will call.
