4-bet Pot at 2/3
Villain is a 50-60s Persian guy. He's drinking beer. Rich, gamble-y and aggressive. Raising a lot of hands and been throwing in a good amount of 3-bets. Haven't seen any of the 3-bet showdown hands, but I've seen him open 98o to $20 from MP. We are $500 effective with villain.
Folds to us in MP and we open A♣4♣ to $15. CO calls. Villain in SB 3-bets to $65. Back to us and we make it $145. CO folds. Villain calls.
FLOP ($308): 2♦2♥5♦
Vilnian leads for $115. Hero?

Raise, I think, unless we think he's flatting pre with a lot of big PP's and just hoping to dodge an ace-high flop.
I mean, we're repping AA/KK when we 4B pre. This is a pretty good board for our range, and our actual hand. His 1/3 pot donk size seems like a "see where I'm at" bet.
I would shove, SPR slightly over 1 and you should have at least 7 outs. Wouldn't light 4bet pre vs 4 fish though.

This is bad advice. I mean, its never a bad spot to just run your equity, but the villain described, that 3b too light, then is donking this flop, just has like 99-QQ+ fd all day here. None of that is ever folding to a jam, ever. People that are donking in 4b pots on low boards just are not folding to jams. Maybe you get him to fold some random broadway stuff+AK/AQ etc. A fish here isn't thinking 'oh you could have AA/KK' they are just thinking 'oh **** I have an overpair on this board I guess I am never folding'
I also agree that its dumb to 4b people like this with A4s etc. Just 4b them very linearly with a strong range. Like TT+/AJs+
It's shove or fold. Really depends on how V has been playing. Has he been 3betting from blinds? I he always donking flops? Has anyone 4bet him before? Does he have a fold button?
From my computer, I probably sigh fold, but I can see situations where I would shove.
Pre is a flat or fold vs. this guy, not a 4bet.

Sorry, I overlooked the starting stack depths. Re-reading the OP, I think the 4B was a mistake, because we're nearing pot commitment going to the flop.
I don't know what V's line is supposed to be repping, but we don't have the stack depth to generate much if any fold equity with a raise. It's just a $hltty spot, and I probably just fold.
As played I hate this spot, but I guess we can call flop and fold to a jam on the turn. Maybe bluff river. I don't think we have the equity + fold equity to jam unless he has some super spaz hands like KQ without a frontdoor flush draw.
I don't like the 4b pre. 4b bluffs are a meta adjustment you make when people have light 3bets, some of which they will actually fold when you 4bet. If he is 3betting AQo and you 4 bet with a balanced range him he is supposed to fold. This guy won't fold. He probably wouldn't fold ATo. So your 4bets should be very linear, AK, JJ+.
Pre its close between flatting and folding to his 3b. Vs a normal rec it's a fold but vs this guy he will make huge mistakes postflop. I don't like the cutoff being able to get in there if you flat though as then he is the one more likely to show up with AJo etc. It's great that you've worked in 4b bluffs into your game, but I'd save it for the aggressive guys with a fold button.
Yeah, agree that this is probably too aggressive pre.
I figured he’s 3-betting wide and this would get through a decent amount of the time, but you guys are probably right that he’s just not gonna fold as much as I think.
Ended up tank folding, although I really wanted to just rip and pray. It’s just so gross when he has like A8dd and calls.
