Calling a short-stack's EP open with K9s just feels wrong. It seems like this must be a raise or fold situation.

Seems like a fold to me.

I think we make an exploitative fold. Give him KQo+, KTs+, sets, and all the suited connectors Td8d+, bluffing all flush draws 100% and KQ still can't profitably call. Have to give him Kjo for KQ to call. Need 44.3% equity.

You would almost have to know he doesn't do this with value, only bluffs.

Preflop should be fine in an unraked game. Closer in a raked game.

As you said you just sat down there's lots more poker to play sir e-z fold.

An <30 straddles SB open should be phenomenally tight, right? I don't even want to call here, lol. Assuming V is competent, which might be a stretch.

(Aside, why are people so eager to push straddles up to where most players have <100, and some are really short-stacked like V? Is deeper-stacked that much harder to play? Is it that shorter stacked is more comforting to new cash players coming from a tournament background?)
