5-5-10 river spot
I played a hand last night which is still keeping me up so thought I would post here and garner other opinions.
Villain in question is a huge whale who is losing around 3k at this point. We have regular pot folds (and emergency pot folds) in this game, normally 25 or 50 in pre.
Villain has been consistently asking for bigger pot folds, basically wanting to gamble it up.
Villain is generally a calling station and bluffs weird spots at times.
Hero has arrived quite late to the game, sat down with 1.5k, played for a couple of hours and winning around £500.
Table has generally agreed to end session approximately 20 mins or so before the following hand. This is not a casino game with regs but a private game with maybe a couple of regs and everyone else recs and whales.
Playing £2k effective
Straddle is on to £20.
Villain opens HJ to £60, Hero flats on BTN with J8ss, SB flats, BB flats and straddle folds.
Flop (£260)
KK10 with 2 hearts
Checks around
Turn 9 (£260)
Villain bets £100, we raise to £350. Why? My reads on the villain were he would generally go bigger with Kx and id be expecting him to fire the flop quite a fair bit aswell given it's multi way action and there are plenty of draws to gain value from. Also both players in the blinds were giving the impression they were folding after the £100 bet from villain.
Villain flats. When he flats, I'm still expecting him to 3bet some of his value holdings, hands like 1010 and maybe AK/KQ
River 7 (£960)
Hero backdoors the straight
Villain more or less snap shoves all in for £1500.
Hero???

Fold pre probably best although maybe can call against a whale.
Don’t try to bluff a calling station.
I’m calling expecting to see Kx enough of the time. Flush draw missed…?
I assume a "pot fold" is a hand where those are your two options? Match the pot or fold? What is an "emergency pot fold?"
As for hand advice, I agree with matzah on all streets.
Is it 5-5-10-20 or 5-10-20? In either event it's a fold preflop with two blinds, let alone three or four.
I'm not a huge fan of raising turn based purely on a sizing tell which may well be inaccurate.
You represent QJ (or at least trips+) on the turn and opponent comes out swinging on the river. Presumably front door hearts missed? The snap shove might be a timing tell in favour of that. I agree with the others, with busted draws + trips you can probably call now, although with obvious straights out there in addition to your own I'd be surprised to see that many trips.
What is regular or emergency pot fold?
Has V donk jammed 1.5x in this spot before?
Regardless, i think our hand is too strong to fold now. Folding pre would’ve been the correct move obviously.
Fold turn as well, you have a bottom straight draw on a paired board with 2 hearts in a 4way pot even if you think he is somewhat weak, this is not the spot to blast off vs whale.
