ATs IP feeling like Mr. In-charge untillll....
1/3 NLHE 9 handed
Table is a mixed bag but it's not bad. We're up a little sitting on 850$. Our image to the regs (V1 and V3) is someone who can bluff and raise a lot. We are in CO.
V1 - Old man, competent probably break even player. Loose passive pre. Opened K9o IP over two limps earlier. I've seen him call 3-bets with 97o. His main skill is in his post-flop play where he's able to make big folds and avoid going broke in cooler spots. He can do basic reads on players and understand who is a nit and who isn't etc etc (for instance he'll know V3 is a rock in this hand). He's up a bit after some run good. 1k. Covers. BB.
V2 - old guy that has no clue and just has fun. Here to gamble and play and doesn't take it seriously. Loose passive that sometimes drills. His betting range is really strong. His check-calling range is full of crap. 900$. UTG+1.
V3 - Asian rock. Not quite a nit. Will open QJs from MP for example. Never out of line. Plays full time for profit and is making 14BB/hr this year so far. Great at folding. Just plays a tight ABC for profit game. No creativity. 500$. MP.

UTG fish straddle, V2 limps, V3 to 25, we see A♥ T♥ and think a second about raising but then just flat, V1 calls, V2 calls. 4-ways IP.
Flop 100 - T♠ 4♥ 3♦
V1 donks 25, V2 calls, V3 raises to 75... and here we are...

Fold flop after 1 bet and 1 raise.
V has no creativity so fold.
Preflop seems like an easy 3-bet against an alleged, ABC crusher...or anyone who isn't an actual "rock, " which means super OMC-like nit.
Unfortunately, this hand is just another example of how weak pre-flop play puts us in no-man's-land on the flop.
I'm a nit so I'd prefer to fold pre than call vs. a tight range.
Flop is a trivial fold not a nit fold.
Grunch:
PRE - flat calling IP with bad players likely to come along seems fine. Putting in a 3B would also be okay, because making better AX combos or any PP fold pre is a win when we have AT.
I think I slightly prefer to 3B, but it's close.
FLOP - my first thought is that this is an easy fold, just based on the action. Like, what hands worse than ours could V3 have?
But it's a little bit of a murky situation, because V1 donks into three opponents, which should be a strong hand. Yet he's taking a small size, and the board isn't all that connected, so it doesn't make a lot of sense. This is a spot where he could just bluff catch with any decent strength Tx.
V3 could be picking up on that, and just pouncing on a strange action, assuming it's weak. Or he has JJ+, and is putting V1 on TP, so he's just raising for value.
I dunno. If we flat call, that may alarm V3, and he may check to us on the turn. But folding still seems like the most sensible option here. If we call and the turn is an ace, we're probably not getting paid. We might not get paid on another ten. If it's a heart, five, or deuce, we'll have a hard time folding if V3 barrels.
Result:
Spoiler
I call the 75, thinking its a mis-step, V1 to 165, V2 shoves, V3 folds and I fold, V3 shows me JJ and I show him my ATs, V1 calls off with 44, V2 has JTo.
how do you know someones winrate.
As WereBeer said, default to fold everywhere.
We are dominated by everything V3/MP opens, so we can't bet much and and get called by worse.
Calling also pretty much guarantees the limper comes along, and likely the straddle. So we can hit A74 or whatever and outflop MP's KK or whatever but still have no idea wtf we are, and only have 5 SPR.
3bet by far better than calling, and I don't mind it as a bluff sometimes.
Obvious folds post flop are obvious. Seems spew of V3 to raise.
Insta-fold. At least make the 3 a ♥ to have it be somewhat interesting.
Haven't seen spoiler or comments after it.
Folding by default, but if this guy is so straightforward could a raise over the top get him off an overpair at all? You are in excellent shape against the other two players (dominating) and do have some backdoor equity if behind. Presumably V3 doesn't often raise 44/33 from MP over a limp whereas you have all sets.
I guess this deep I can get behind a preflop flat to hopefully bring along a bunch of others (especially clueless V2) to ~nutmine. But in general not in love being the first flatter (our postflop relative position sucks) with no others guaranteed to be in the pot (which sometimes leaves us HU versus a crusher).
Facing this flop action I just fold. Crusher should never be getting OOL with V2 in the pot so there's not a whole heckuva lot worse he can be doing this with. Also not impossible to be behind someone else (a crapload of people in my game somehow show up with AA/KK here, let alone a fairly standard QQ/JJ).
