Why are you raising a good player's EP raise with KTs?

This feels like an easy fold.

bc i want to take the betting lead against a wide range

What do you mean by good player? How does he see you? It's just not a great hand against an EP open. I'd almost rather call and keep him guessing considering we have position. Or just fold depending on the rest of the table.

As played, the board favors what he should have, but he doesn't realize how strong we are. I bet as long as you are willing to go to war, and you wanted the betting lead, so just bet. Anywhere from $35 to $60 depending on how you normally play.

Your hand's got too much going on to be a check back imo. This board should hit V too, but I'd almost rather have this than AA. The times you take it down here are great too, I'd go close to pot and maybe check back some turns.

wow okay so i did bet pot actually ... but looking back i was wondering if it was bad to go so big in a 3bet pot?

I think so, that's why I recommended max of $60. Maybe my reply was too long? LOL.

no it wasn't too long lol you're saying max 60 without much reasoning behind it. i think if he's going to be inelastic on such a wet and connected board so we can just bet pot however my hand isn't a strong made hand at the moment so maybe i could actually just x this back sometimes considering he will have all the nuttish hands like sets and straights and my hand doesn't really need much protection. i feel like betting big here on the flop is almost like turning my hand into a bluff bc he's probably continuing with at least QJ or KJ which might be hard to get to fold with a few barrels anyways

I'm sorry you didn't understand "depending on how you normally play." I'd bet what you would normally bet w/ your 3betting hands. If you are going to bet pot with those hands because that's how you normally play, go for it.

(So funny that I was as detailed as banana -- we basically wrote the same thing, but we varied on bet size.)

"Good players" aren't opening x5 with that wide of a range from EP, and KTs is a trap hand against a normal, EP opener.
