turn check shove
Live £1 / £1
UTG open £4
UTG+ 1 calls £125
MP calls
Hero calls in HJ 9c9s Covers
I have only played with UTG for a little bit but he seems quite solid so I decided to flat the 99 here maybe this should be a 3B?
Flop 8h6d2d (£16)
UTG + 1 bets £10
hero calls
Turn 2c (£36)
Hero bet £20
UTG + 1 all in £110
Hero??
I was trying to think what hands he could have here, I didn't think he would have 2x since he bet flop into 3 other players, he also snap shoved as soon as I bet im not sure if this would be a sign of strength or weakness here, I dont think many people shove a full house here either so I was thinking he can have some draws and some 8x too?

I think is range is overpairs, flush draws and A8. Unlikely to be 77, 55, or smaller pocket pairs.
Probably best to fold here.

It’s not out of the realm of possibility that you could fold on the flop here. You have an overpair, but your stated reason for not 3betting preflop is you think this guy is a solid player. With an 8 and 6 on board, almost all his pocket pairs either were already ahead or flopped a set. So to call the flop you have to hope he bets his air a lot, and you have to contend with RIO on the turn/river as you see here.
eh, im never folding flop.
Turn is interesting, i think u can bet smaller than 20 here as a float bet. really ur just trying to make 2 overs indifferent and get called by smaller pairs. His XR range f**ks you anyways so betting bigger only makes this case worse and doesnt improve the other case. you can value bet river if he calls a 30p turn bet anyways.
AP i just fold, he either has OP or a FD, so u either have 2 outs or he has 11. its just not a good situation since u never have him crushed.
You might never fold flop because (if I recall correctly) you play higher than this. In my experience, the higher the stakes, the less you want to fold the flop in these spots against Villains who are decent and/or you have history with.
Tbf, are most higher stakes V's leading >60% when they overcall pf on 862dd?
Really want to raise this on the flop. Unless V has 88/66 or something really silly like 97dd, they shouldn't be leading this heavy, no? We have all the sets in our range, along with some bigger Axdd draws or other two overs + fd. Or 98dd.
And it's not like 99 is going to get much better.

what sizing would you go here, I was slightly over half pot here trying to get called by all his 1p hands

Yeah I mean against some players might be best to fold on the flop. I had not much experience with this player, In general I would like to reevaluate n the turn

Yeah I think 3BP would have been better, But true there is not much better for 99 on the turn and river,
