A7s BB defend
1/3 NLHE 9 handed
Table is getting worse and we're on transfer. Lots of nittier players moving in. V1 and V2 are two such players I don't really like playing with.
V1 - TAG asian. Competent. Likes to make moves and bluff using his image. I'm not exactly sure how to exploit him, I don't have ton of hours with him but I enough to know that the best option is just not to give him too much action unless I have a strong hand. He can take some creative lines sometimes like double check-raises or check-raising river with pure air. He's a winning TAG with a VPIP around 15-20%. He's been losing this session and hasn't topped up (unusual). 240$. CO.
V2 - Old indian OMC. Speech tell. "oh well if you have it I pay you" when he goes AI with the nuts. Can get tilted later in the night if he's been losing and put his last 100$ in with 66 or something preflop. 350$. SB.
---
Folds to V1 who opens 12, V2 calls SB, H sees A♠ 7♠ and calls BB covers both. 3-ways 2nd to act.
Flop 35 - T♦ 8♠ 5♣
V2 checks, H checks, V1 to 18, V2 gives off some mega physical tells that he hates it pounding the table with the chips in his hand but then calls, we decide to float.
Turn 80 - 9♠
V2 checks, H leads 75...

H is BB. I don't mind preflop, esp. with the bad player in SB and we have good relative position.
Read on V1: best option is just not to give him too much action unless I have a strong hand
Read on V2: he likes to pretend he's weak when strong (and he's pretending he's weak)
Without reads, and HU, I think a flop call is marginal for this size from V1. With reads on V1, seems like an easy fold.
V2 being in and the reads we have on him strongly suggest that calling is much worse.
This is almost the nut turn for us though, so I understand the desire to bluff.
I doubt leading is the best way to do it though. Will often require firing river (and there's probably only one viable size), and we torch the value of our relative position.
Also if V1 calls turn it's probably better to not bluff a lot of rivers, but then sometimes we'll lose to like AJ/KJ.
Against a tag+nit, I'm probably never calling preflop, 3bet or fold.
Not sure why we floating flop, we have Ace high, we don't have position, we are facing 2 players. There's no shame in folding, or if you want to bluff, check/raise to like 100. I don't mind a call or a raise if we had the nfd but we have A high! I rather you donk flop then check/call.
Not sure why we donking turn. I rather check/shove then donk pot on turn.
I think there is some fancy syndrome stuff going on in this hand. Line makes no sense.
I think pre-flop is good. I don't like the flop float at all. Not that many cards we can continue on. Do we really even want to hit an Ace here?
I don't like the big turn lead. I don't think you are getting that many folds. Also what happens if V2 jams? Going to be in a grim spot, not getting a great price but with the maximum amount of equity.
Fold second worse suited ace preflop. Fold flop. Board is really wet on the turn and we don't have that much of it, so check/reevaluate.
Would prefer squeezing pre - this hand flops poorly and won't be fun multiway. Plays much better as a squeeze esp with Ace blocker. Flop looks major spewy - would just fold. OTT here you turn essentially the best card in the deck and we don't have a clear idea on what to do - I guess I like the donk given we're rarely raised here and can rep a straight, but think the flop was the biggest blunder.
So...V2 has reverse tells, and he acts angry when he calls flop?
Dude, I wouldn't bet turn when he checks. Just check and hope V1 checks behind.
Preflop is a little meh. We're going to be OOP, up against at least one solid winning player and I'm assuming a nittier player who doesn't give great action. Although we are getting a decent price closing the action with a nut-over-second-nut making hand.
Wow, super optimistic float on the flop. Dude is still betting into two players. And if we go by read, isn't V2 saying he has the nuts? And we've got... A high and a backdoor?
I mean, I guess if we're going to float this light we have to steal some pots on the turn like this. But this is going to be difficult to do against two opponents. And am I misreading the tell V2 is giving off on the flop (weakness means strength)?

Result: I lead 75 and they both snap fold
