99 on Qxx versus blocking bets multiway

1/2 NL. I have about 270; villains cover. Three limpers to me in CO. I raise to 15 with 99, BB cold calls, all limpers call, 5 ways to the flop.

Flop is Qs7h3d, 2 checks, 2nd limp/caller UTG+2 bets 8 in 72, I call, BB calls. Turn is 8d, check, UTG+2 bets 8 again. Should I call down? I could raise and bet the river, trying to get a players with a Q to fold.

Raise and elect to overbet or bluff jam some rivers

Yeah, I thought of raising turn. After showdown, I more thought raising turn, shoving river was best. I sort of chickened out and didn't have experience with people playing to transparently.

Both I and BB called. River was another low card. He bet 8 again. Only I called. He asked if I had a Q and tabled QTo.

I think I had odds to call down maybe being good and with 2 odds to close to the nuts. However, raising was better.

I think you played the hand fine. They may well have a hand like A7s here and be buying a cheap showdown.

In my opinion it would be a mistake to turn a hand this strong into a bluff. In villain's shoes with QTo, I'd really doubt your story if you raise now after just calling a very small bet on the flop. I doubt you are folding out many queens by the river.

If you had a hand like 66 that called flop to set-mine I'd like that line more, because there is more middling stuff that beats you to fold out.

Whatever they bet with otf is what they have ott, so call.
