I’m curious if you would fold or call as played and if you would play this hand any differently.

I feel like you could call or fold in this spot, maybe he thinks I’m full of it and has 99 but maybe he’s slow playing a monster?

Open pre or fold
Bet small flop
Fold turn, you beat 0 value, you only beat bluffs.
River check back

You called turn to bluff catch right???
Now he checks the river, you bet big, not sure you going for bluff? value??? makes no sense sorry???

I don’t mind the flop check but small bet is fine. You messed up every other street. River bet makes no sense just check.

I hate all of this.

Raise pre, overlimping is one thing but open limp is generally just bad. I wouldn't even overlimp in HJ because you have 4 more players who can raise and mess up your day. Hand is good enough to raise for value but if you don't want to play it, it's not a disaster to fold pre. Raise > Fold >>> Open limp.

Flop. Rule of thumb, if you hit like this in position in a limped pot, then bet and take your equity. You are ahead most of the time here but there are 12 overcards that change that. If you bet and take it down, that's a great result. If you bet and get called, that's not great but you may still have the best hand.

Turn: I probably call too but then I'm a payoff wizard.

River: I have no idea what to do now we got raised. His line is odd for value but I lean fold because I think he just shows up with Ax or even 6 too often here but reads could sway me.

Very nice hand to open raise from the hijack, please don’t limp sir. Take the initiative.

When they check to you on the flop, you bet pot. So, we would have a different scenario.
A weak ace might fold thinking you have a better one. A pair of sixes likely folds

As played,
I would still likely have some kind of read on villain. The small turn bet could be a timid weak ace. Not a very savvy play followed by a big check-raise which is a strong play, so it would really help to have a feeling for villain’s skill level.

On the river, the likely bad ace realized that only a six could beat him. I would fold.

You called it correctly, he had a bad A. He checked on the flop, when I checked back he bet on the turn for value. When I called he may have been worried I had a better ace. He checked on the river knowing his A was probably good. Figures at this point he would give me rope to hang myself and I did. He probably correctly summoned that at worst he was most likely splitting the pot with me.

You would have made the right decision in that hand and probably played the entire hand better than me.
