weird pf spot
9 handed 1/3 $1.2k deep or so, $6 button straddle more or less mandatory unless you want to look like a super nit
open AsQc UTG $20, loose player calls, guy who just sat down 10 mins ago min 3b $40, 2 players cold call in HJ and BTN. blinds fold. HJ is solid. BTN is loose.
no real reads on this guy other than hes in his 40s.
call or 4b?

If we had 500 I would ship it. At this depth I probably flat and proceed cautiously. We will have the best relative position so it’s not terrible.
200/f was what first came to mind. Do we really want to go 5-ways first (have to imagine the initial caller is calling this bet too) to act with AQo? Would we want to with ultra-premiums? Guessing the answer to both is no. Might even make it something like 230-240.
Problem with 4Bet is worse likely wonβt call and better pre-flop hands are likely. Trying to muscle this pot could be a disaster, but winning this hand against 4 others seeing the flop will take some luck. A true nitty probably folds to the 3bet.
Your play so far is fine (standard) though I can fold this hand up front in an aggressive game. I think you call now and play fit or fold.
I donβt pretend to have all the answers, just not scared to give an opinion. Iβm always looking for a better way. You call this a weird spot, but I think it comes up often enough that I am very curious of everyoneβs opinions. Good Post!
How do things change with AJ or AK in this situation?

Sounds about right. Usually these weird clicks pre are not nutted. If they are, it is AA because people feel comfortable getting a little experimental with that and we have an A.
No reason to 4-bet AQs here with action behind. Pot’s already big and you’ll be guessing postflop.
I think we have to 4B to around $200-$240, but fold if he jams.
