$2/3/12 monster line check
Playing $2/3/mandatory straddle. Sat early afternoon.
H ~$700 MAWG have up sized numerous bets on all streets. Don’t think I’ve shown anything. V definitely has noticed.
V ~$2,200. MAAG. H doesn’t know V but V seems like competent thinking reg. He seems to know all the regs I know.
V limps UTG+1. Most people straddle for $6. Straddler this hand has been only one going to $12. Not sure how this affects V limping in in EP.
H sees black A’s. Makes it $45, only V calls.
Flop ($106)
Ah6h2s
V x, H $40. V calls. Feel like a range bet here.
Turn ($186)
Ah6h2s 2h
V x, H x Obviously a great card for H. Should be a scare card for H with most of my range but not my actual hand. V should know this. H is trying to rep a big pair under the A.
River ($186)
Ah6h2s 2h 9c
V x, H $175.
Thoughts?

What is hero’s position? What’s going on with the 12 dollar bet, is that a double straddle?
Turn can go either way but I lean bet. As played definitely bomb river.
Turn we probably need to bet this 100% of the time.
Why? Because it's such a bad card to bluff. Since it's a bad card to bluff with, we should 100% bet when we have value.
Anyhow, you have to understand villain's range for calling flop. Flushdraws, Ax, 6x, 2x, random middle pp(77-JJ), random gutshots.
Turn once it pairs up and flush hits.
Villain isn't even going to put much money on river if you just check back turn.
So you probably need to get value from all his 2x and flushes, and his pair with heart draw on turn.
We probably can bet small like 1/2 to get max value.
Once river blanks after the small turn bet, we probably jam for max value vs flushes. Or if you think he folds flushes to a jam, we can bet smaller like 1/2 - pot size, however imho, most ppl are reluctant to fold flushes.
700/12 = 58 straddles yet we have trouble getting it in with value????
As played river bet sizing doesn't seem that good. Either make it small or big. Small captures all the weak range. Big bets capture villain's stronger ranges like flushes/2x.
I probably bet like 40 praying a call from super weak ranges(middle pp/6x type hands) but villain can still check/raises with his bluffs/stronger ranges(flushes/2x).
Agree with Omaha, turn should be bet.
Twitch, if the V is already doubting you, or at least thinking you're getting frisky on later streets, why not lean into that on a board pairing/flushing turn card? Plus, SPR's such to where H really wants to get another bet in to play for stacks.
I'd think you could go b50/b66 on turn and get looked up. Or b10 (hat-tip, submersible)-33 and see if you can induce something silly.
a62tt is most definitely not a range bet spot
find it difficult to see many hands hes going to want to bluff w otr if you check the turn (dont really understand "trying to rep a big pair under the A"). if hes the straddle its a bit different but i really just expect this to always be a pair or a flush when he c/c the flop. you are infinitely more likely to stack a flush by going bbb as opposed to x back turn and jam over river bet. the ev's mostly seem close and i guess we let him hit 2 outer to die sometimes i just think ev irl will not be that close to solver as i dont really expect him to put in a ton of money otr when turn checks through
i think river sizing is too small if you decide you want to go big. i also think you have a not great combo to go big as he should mostly bluff catch ax, but id go b125-b150 or something if i did this. comedy option is jam which i guess you bluff w like 9x if you wanted. again it kind of sucks that you have 2 aces and its sort of unlikely to me that he goes for x/r otr with flushes - relevant because i expect him to just lead them so its kind of hard to see many good hands that are going to be able to call off jam (some people may just call range or w/e vs jam because it looks stupid but i dont see anything to suggest that here). it feels like b50 is your best chance of getting called by like 7h7x which i think is going to be the hand region you want to target given you have 2 aces. it also lets him be a hero if he wants and jam while covering some of your weaker valuebets. so id probably do that. bombing it makes more sense to me with like 66 or 99 or like a flush or even idk a9 or something depending on exactly how capped we think he is (id imagine very)
tbh i kind of like checking the flop
I'm betting the turn because I want all his money. $2/$3 rule of thumb is that a flush isn't betting deep stacks with a flush on a paired board, but they may call stacks. If he doesn't have a flush or better, he's not paying us off anyway but failing to stack a flush or some stubborn nonsense hand is a disaster.
If V has "definitely noticed" us sizing up multiple times, why aren't we sizing up with value?
Flop: Seems like a great flop to size up. Ax, mid pp, FDs are all calling one card and if V thinks we might be out of line we might get a float from random stuff. I don't think we get x/r much, so no reason to go small. Go for $75.
Turn: We want to gii so we want to bet at least $125 to set up roughly 1 spr. . I'd rather bet more but the flop size stunted us. We should still get called by made flushes and maybe a hand like AdJh. Doubtful much else will stick around for any size.
River: If we got here with b/b it would be an easy jam. AP, if we had KJss would I be comfortable jamming as a bluff? Heck no. So I would jam and hope it looks suspicious. V is deep and it's only 1/3rd of his stack, that does make people more likely to hero call against crazy lines that don't make sense, so make the line crazy.
With a $12 straddle and a limp, I go bigger pre. Bigger on flop strictly for value -- if he's going to call $40, he's going to call $60. Bet turn, river is fine. I actually might go smaller to look like a blocking bet. Really not much he can call with.
Interesting hand.
I probably just check back the flop, and start betting on the turn if he checks again. If we want to bet, I think we can bet big, like we would with AK that wants to charge his draws. Maybe $120, praying he has the case ace or two hearts.
I think many people would tend to check back turn to slow play, hoping to induce V to bluff or value bet worse on river, or just to get a crying check-call from worse. But it's hard to give V any hands that want to start bluffing or betting thin on the river.
More likely he has a PP and is praying to boat up himself, so I think we're better off betting something on the turn, even if it's small. This way he can continue, and if he does boat up, the pot will be bigger going to the river, and he'll think he can target our turned flushes or AX combos. I'd probably bet just a smidge less than half pot, like $80-$85.
When he checks again on the river after we checked back turn, it seems unlikely he has a very strong hand. I'd probably bet small, like $120. That 2/3 pot sizing seems just large enough that we could sometimes be bluffing or betting too thin. That bet-check-bet line will have enough bluffs that he might look us up with any pair.
The challenge with this line is that to a good opponent, it looks like what it is - thick value that wanted a call on the flop and was hoping to induce with a turn check back. We're better off getting our value on earlier streets, when we can have more bluffs or value hands to protect. Once the flush comes in and the board pairs, we don't have nearly as many bluffs, and can't get thin value from all the severely downgraded hands in our opponents' ranges.
I think itβs kind of a whatever spot.
Flop prolly too big as a range bet and with this particular hand, but whatever.
Turn fine but not mandatory.
OTR I honestly would rather go bigger or smaller. I prefer B33 because the fact we cripple the deck means their hand is likely in one of three categories: 1) marginal hands that wonβt necessarily call bigger, 2) air that might be tempted to attack a milk bet, or 3) a flush or other random second best hand that got their that is all the more guaranteed to raise a small bet and get put in the blender by a shove.
If youβre gonna go for a light call of a big bet, though, feels like you might as well just use a βF you, youβre cappedβ uber bet and let them do something dumb 10% of the time or whatever.
I think you really need to bet turn and hope for the best. Probably on the smaller side, hoping flush will c/r and he’ll continue with Ax or random pair with a heart.
As played river bet should be smaller I think. He generally has a random pair here. Do we think he calls a big bet with that?
With the board paired and a possible flush, you're not getting much value from one pair hands. You block Ax anyway and
