1-2 NL. V in mp seems mediocre. Older white guy but not at all OMC. He has 800, Hero has around 400.

Hero on btn with KhKd

Pre: UTG V HJ limp, Hero makes it 12, sb and 3 limpers call

Flop (62) : QhTx2h
2 checks V bets 50 only Hero calls

Turn (162) : 6x
V checks

I don't understand the x6 baby raise after three limpers?

I'm still amazed at the small raises on this forum. With three limpers, I would have gone at least $20 in my games. Apparently, you should, too.

Just check the turn, but a little more info on V would be nice -- is he passive, aggressive, what does the large lead on flop indicate? Does he like to check/raise or "trap"?

can you explain your logic for making it $12?

id bet like $100 on the turn and fold to a jam.

The pf size is about right in theory, but you got 4 callers, so yes, you can most probably go bigger as an exploit.

Flop is standard.

Turn is a quite obvious bet imo.
I mean, V's check HU on a blank turn after betting big flop into 4 players doesn't make much sense anyway, but even less so with 2p+.

Unless he's the type to check/raise or is so passive he check/calls w/ two pair plus. I play against both types.

Maybe, but I'm still betting here. We really want to get full value from a Q and if he's not a good player, as stated, he'll probably pay us off.

Size up preflop

Raise otf

Multiway pots are messy fam. Still, with KK and that board, you’ve gotta bet turn before hearts or Jx ruin it.

Java: how do you avoid "sizing tells" preflop? Or do you deliberately exploit at 1/3? Thanks!

I tend to raise the same w/ every hand, so my raises vary w/ position and number of limpers, not hand strength. I tend to size up, too, deliberately to exploit.

Pre: has been covered. I make a standard 15 open at 1/2 here.

Flop: I like the flat call on the BTN. Keep him wide. We block logical SDs.

Turn: I'm looking to get value from Qx. Probably making 1/2psb and looking to fade river h and 8.

B/f turn or b/c? Though I don't think 80-90 is going to interfere with b/f. QT is about the only thing I'm concerned with.

Hmmmm....this is interesting.

PRE - obviously raise. The size looks fine, but the fact that you got 4 callers makes me wonder if we could have gone a tad bigger.

FLOP - the huge donk into four opponents is concerning.

Ordinarily I'd say this is going to be a strong hand. Then I'd level myself into thinking it could be a good draw, like KhJh, but then I'd look and see we have the Kh, and start to wonder if we can base all our thinking around a single combo of Jh9h (no, brain, we can't).

I'd think this could be 22, or maybe TT, or QT, or some sort of draw. If we start giving him a reasonable range that wants to donk huge when multi-way, we're not doing great against that range.

I'd have a really hard time folding here, but I'm already hating the spot. I probably make a leery call, with a plan to evaluate (but probably fold) if he barrels turn.

TURN - I'd think all his 2P and sets would continue to barrel. It's possible he's going for a check-raise, but my hunch now is he donked with QX, likely AQ, trying to "see where he's at", and now wants to pot control.

At first it seems like we're deep enough to bet around 1/2 pot and fold if he check-raises, but that's going to give his draws a really good price to continue, and it sets up such a low SPR for the river that we're effectively pot-committing ourselves.

If we were deeper, I'd probably go large, because his good draws and strong TP holdings are likely to be pretty inelastic. But we've only got around 2x pot left, so...I dunno, I might jam, praying he can't lay down good QX here.

Alternatively, I could also see just checking it back and playing some poker on the river. If we check back though, we're going to have to call almost any size bet up to full pot, on almost any river card that doesn't complete a draw.

Our hand may not be strong enough to want to play for stacks on this board texture, given the huge flop donk. Had this been heads-up and action checked to us, we might be happy winning $100-$200. We aren't stoked to play for $400.

I made it 12 because lots of pots were going 2-3 ways for 8-10 pre. There was plenty of limp folding. Clearly given result I should have gone 15-20.

pre and flop look good. bet turn definitely, probably on the smaller side.

Yeah, I’m betting turn here, man. Too many draws and weaker queens that’ll pay you off

I'm betting $100 here all day long. If he jams, I'm probably folding, but we're getting value from all the Qx and FDs. We have an ugly decision OTR if one of the draws comes in and he open jams, but deal with that when it happens. But right now, I'm looking to bet turn and jam river, offering him a really good price that will tempt AQ, QJ, and even JT to pay off the river. And I think a lot of those hands that we beat will call and check the river on a scary card. You don't see a lot of people at $1/$2 turning TP into a bluff.

Result: Hero bets 125 and V snap folds.

20-25 preflop

Flop fine

Turn as played 100-120 or so, still gives you river options depending on card.

Bet at least $80.

Actually not a bad spot to ship the whole stack and hope to get Hero called.

That was my first thought.
