2/3 Pocket JJ - Hand Analysis

9 Handed - 100 BB Effective - Button Straddle on $10
New into the game and have no info on the button player
Have played with MP player. Passive, plays straight forward, calls only, raises it when he has it because doesn't want to get sucked out on, and folds when has nothing or pressure is applied.

Preflop:

MP player calls $10
Hero raises to $35 in the CO with JcJh
Button calls, MP calls

Flop: Tc6c2c (pot - 110)
Hero bets $60
MP and Button call

Turn: Kd (pot - 290)
Hero all in $205
Button Calls
MP tanks and folds

Would appreciate some feedback.

Mono flops should be bet small, like $20-$30 here is good, you risk getting very little value vs worse and isolating yourself against stronger hands with this size. Checking to check call is also a good option

Turn as played is just egregiously overplaying the hand and a punt. Im not sure if you think you are value betting or bluffing? Wouldn't be shocked if you bluffed them off better. You definitely are almost never getting called by worse

with the SPR the way it is whats your bet size on the turn?

With two players in for 10, I would go bigger pre-flop 50 - you kinda don’t want button to call & you kinda made it easy to call. I would expect to get heads-up & if they both fold great.
I feel like the ‘shortstack’ in this situation described, so I don’t mind getting the money in, especially with this flop. But I can’t be sure if I’m value betting, so it’s more logical to pot control.

Flop bets multi-way should be small; as should bets with mono boards.

I check/call turn
Rarely do this, but squeezed between two players, very dynamic board where the river could change everything, strong showdown value, ranges unclear

It’s hard to know where villains go from here with the lines I would take differently

As played, it’s called ‘brute force’ and I don’t hate it - I’ve been guilty of it. But the thing is that it takes a better hand to call, than it does to bet. These should be strong ranges calling your fairly big flop bet.

Checking the turn allows you to find out how much button likes his hand, see the river & from the info, make a strong decision.

Welcome to the forum.

Did MP check to hero in CO on flop and turn?

Pre I’m good. If people call your 3bets wide, I’m raising to 50. I would want first a read.

Flop you are uncapped. Do want to play your hand like AA or JJ? Bet 35 or check.

After two calls, TT is no good. I give up

Grunch:

PRE - Raise bigger. Make it $40-$45.

I like to raise bigger when the BTN straddle is on and the BTN is incentivized to see a flop.

FLOP - check or bet smaller, no more than 20%-25% pot.

Monotone boards and multi-way pots call for smaller bet sizes. Being multi-way and monkey-in-the-middle calls for checking. So check, or bet small.

TURN - just check.

Our opponents aren't capped when it's a monotone board and they both call our flop bet. We're rapidly running out of value.
