Well, V has alot of 9x, Q9. For max value 150. Anymore I think he might fold for a chop.
Interesting
It sure looks like a nine
Checked flop, checked turn, now bets - he canβt put you on KQ.
So, it comes down to βhow much will he call?β
Not getting greedy
Bet 75 which is some value, but is just small enough that a very aggressive villain might come over the top and lose some more.
Canβt really tell by the description, but if I thought v would never fold a nine, I would certainly jam instead.
I flip in 75 casually, preferably three greens. No way either of the oldtimers behind hero, or villain, is folding a 9, or aces up with busted fd.
Does anyone have a 9 here? It was checked through on the turn, when the nine made a straight.
Any reads on V?
You have to raise the river, but the reality is that you'll rarely if ever have any bluffs when you do.
If the table has been playing nitty, or if V is nitty, I might just min-click it, because I don't think he's likely to call a bigger raise when we can't really be bluffing. Maybe if our image is super-aggro, we can go a little bigger, and pop it to $75. If we've been aggro and they've been overly sticky, then I might go $100.
I wouldn't be shocked if BB also has KQ for a chop, if the game's been nitty.
Any reads on V?
SB is a reg whom (sometimes itβs who) Ive played with before. He was new to the table, so all the raising and losing I had done earlier in the session he was not present to witness. I thought most regs have me as a tight player. I read him as a borderline OMC.
The V to my left I thought was OMC. But in this session he called my PFR with some questionable hands. A7o A4o. We chopped once but he won most of our matchups without a showdown. Iβve played with him before. He probably knows my play style.
Third V new guy. No reads on him except his age. No memorable hands played before this.
I wanted to raise the $25. But Iβm trying to get away from the 3x sizings. Also I didnβt think a 9 would fold. I took it to $100. V on my left tanked for a while. I was excited he was going to call. But he folded. V on end paused to think (why? He had a minute already) and folded. SB said I guess thereβs no chop I donβt have a queen, and folded.
Could I have made more with a call? What about a minclick? There was no reason to think that Vs behind me would have a 9 so should I value SB only? Was he trying to buy it?

It literally means he had a 9 but folded because he thought you had at least Q9+.

When he folds to 4x w/ a 9x, a minclick doesn't help much as well. It does help to induce a spazz but this specific villain probably not spazzing out. lol
Next time just keep raising him nonstop on river, he'll know eventually.

Don't beat yourself up. Maybe someone over-calls behind you. Maybe they all fold, and you wouldn't find out if BB would have called a raise.
That's poker. It's a stupid game sometimes.
