Queens early in session
£1/£2 5 handed (10%, max £10 + £1 for promo)
We’ve only just started and V isn’t someone I’ve played against at all in cash. I have a small sample of tourney play from earlier but nothing to get any insight.
V and H have £300 stacks, others have £200.
V posts £5 straddle
UTG opens to £16. One caller, one fold, H has QQ and makes it £62
V 4bets to £124.
Hero calls………. ??
I’m open to criticism here. I think maybe calling is the least attractive of the three options.
In my defence, I really had no idea of his ranges at the time, nor his play.
Having called we proceed to a flop…
(£280) A 10 6 rb
I check, he checks back. Not sure what this tells me about his hand?
Turn (£280) A 10 6 Q rb
I check. Anyone betting?

Preflop facing the cold4bet it's a fold or jam spot. We never calling.
It's 5 handed+straddle(eff 60 straddles), I don't think we going anywhere probably a jam.
As for turn, V has alot of AA/KK/AK/Ax type hands. We are getting coolered by AA no matter what. So we extract max value from his KK/AK/Ax type hand. Maybe something like 50 with like 125 behind for the river.
Grunch:
PRE - it looks like you're in the blinds? If so, your 3B sizing seems a tad small. I would wonder if our sizing might look weak, inducing V to put in a light 4B. His min-click sizing also looks suspicious.
Theory says if we continue, we should just jam, because we're pot committed. Do we have a reason for deviating by just calling? It doesn't sound like we do.
FLOP - obviously check. Interesting that he checks back after 4B'ing pre. He's supposed to bet range on most / all flops.
Things are just getting weirder. The pre-flop stuff combined with his flop check would make me think he was OOL pre and was giving up on the flop, or maybe he has KK and is just hoping to get to showdown after seeing that ace. Occasionally maybe he flopped top set and is trapping.
TURN - a small bet might be ok. Could also check to induce a bet from him. A small bet would be more annoying to him if he was trapping with AA.
Kinda don't want to x/c a small turn bet and be left wondering what to do on the river. Think I'd prefer to bet small on turn and barrel small on river, planning to fold if he raises river.
If it's a trap with AA we're going down with the ship. Priority would be to get value from AK, KK, JJ so a small bet seems in order.

I don’t like the call preflop. I didn’t like it from the second I made it.
FWIW
Spoiler
I checked turn, he jammed, I called and beat AKo.
Rate V’s play?
Bad.
I can see the case for slow playing AA even though that is debatable. 1 pair, even TPTK is vulnearable, and he paid the price. Good chance you fold to a decent size flop c-bet.
It's meh. The SPR is 1 on the flop. He's not getting away from his hand. Whether the money goes in pre, on the flop, or the turn, it wouldn't seem to matter much, unless you're showing up with some combos that are draws on the flop. But you shouldn't be, so I wouldn't beat him up too badly for letting you see a turn card. It's not like you're folding on the flop, are you?
