[LOW] can a not cbetting nit win?

1/3 NL.

I'm having one of the better multi-month runs in my life. It has just dawned on me that I'm almost never c-betting unless HU, and I'm also playing a tighter range than average by a lot.

Do you think I should look to be doing anything differently? I haven't played almost any live in the past 10 years.

You should not cbet a lot multiway and when you do it should generally be smaller like 25% pot. Even fairly strong hands should check fairly often multiway. So sounds like you are doing fine as far as that goes.

It is hard to tell if your ranges are good just from your description of them being tight. Generally low stakes live players are too loose from early positions and when cold calling a raise so my guess is you are on the right track. You should also be 3betting a lot. Using good preflop charts is a good idea.

Playing too loose pre is probably the biggest leak at lower stakes. If you're already playing tight pre, that's good.

C-betting too much is probably the next biggest leak. So, if you're not doing that either, you're probably already playing better than average within the player pool.

Sit down and figure out how your player pool plays and then develop exploitative strategies. 1/3 Live is insanely exploitable so this should be fairly easy. Generally low stake players play too wide of a range pre and postflop, do not 3 bet light ever, and play passively unless they have a strong hand. The counter to this is value bet lighter, bluff less overall, 3bet value hands wider, etc. At higher stakes they get smarter so your strategy changes, but just remember every strategy has a counter strategy.

I'll add something about playing multi-way flops...

As the PFR, it's true we shouldn't be c-betting as much when we're muti-way. The main reason is that our bluffs have less fold equity. But we should be c-betting more of our value hands, for the same reason - we'll get fewer folds.

It's also true that when we c-bet multi-way, we can take a smaller sizing. But there are plenty of dynamic flops we can bet larger for value when our hand is strong but isn't likely to improve, and the board is likely to get worse for us. Like AA on a board of T74tt.

Lastly, low-stakes players tend to go for check-raises too often when the pot is multi-way. We should be donk-leading more when it's multi-way and we're OOP with thick value and good draws on low-to-middling dynamic flops, and checking back more when IP with hands that don't want to play against a x/r on these boards that favor our opponents' ranges.

About slow-playing - it's over-rated. If you have a monster and think you should check for deception, just bet small instead.

About bet sizing - make your "small" bets smaller and your "big" bets bigger. It's okay to range c-bet 15%-20% pot multi-way instead of 1/3, or bet 1.25x pot on turn instead of 2/3. Squeeze out a little extra value by going slightly larger with your pre-flop 3B's. If you think 1/3 pot is the most V will call on river, try bumping it to 40%. You can min-click for value, and induce raises with absurdly small block bets.
