AJs gets 3 bet in homegame
Everybody’s had at least one beer in em. Villain is brand new to home game. Never met him before today. He quickly dumped 200 BB + to host making some unorthodox plays (bluffs) post flop but we haven’t tangled yet. He seems relatively observant and haven’t observed him OOL versus others. Just the host so far who happens to be to his left. He’s been pretty Fit or fold in pots we’ve been in. I don’t think we’ve been HU in a pot yet but he’s floated a flop versus me once and folded to turn bet. Games only been going and hour or two at this point. I’m playing pretty nitty as usual.
0.50/1.00 blinds.
I open AhJh to 4 UTG 6 or 7 handed. He quickly 3 b cutoff to 12. Folds back to me.
He’s about 250-300 deep at this point. In most casino settings 3bets at 1-2 especially if it’s a first timer I tend to snap fold AJ but if someone’s got history of being OOL it seems like a perfectly fine hand to see a flop with. I’ll post results soon as lil discussion.

I think AJ is just totally player dependent for me. Sometimes its a 4-bet, sometimes its a flat, sometimes its a snap fold. And no one on here can really tell you which because you know best.
Calling AJs seems perfectly standard, although you haven't said your own stack size. Of course from time to time you'll be made to feel uncomfortable facing three barrels on a Axx flop
Your choices are fold, call 8 to win 24 or re-raise. How deep are you? How tolerant are you to losing. Also, why are you min raising from 1st position?
I mean, if your answer is fold then why mind raise UTG to start with?

They're playing 50c/$1. H 4x'd the open UTG.
Most of me wants to call---probably bc "Suited!"---and not 4b, despite being OOP. 4b to 45-50 should deny proper set-mining odds to V, but does H really want to get into a levelling war if V 5b?(Plus that 5 probably will be a shove) And we don't want to 4b/f, right?
Call, take a flop, I guess.
Definitely calling pre this deep facing a 3x 3bet.
Fold seems bad. You have odds to call, even if you think he has a strong range.
4x open size seems small in a .5/1 game.
I would never fold AJs here, but would fold AJo
Calling AJs 100% of the time vs everyone.
Folding to 3 bets pre is good. Almost everyone at live poker 3 bets WAY tighter than GTO and almost everyone calls WAY wider than GTO.
The way bad players 3 bet is that they will very very very occasionally bluff 3 bet with a completely random hand and show it, who cares, you lost $4, easy fold all day when his range is 80% TT+ AQ+.
GTO aint folding AJs but I am. Like, what, is the goal to whiff and check fold, to hit a J and lose a pile of $ to QQ+, or to hit an A and lose a pile of $ to AQ+?
is tough to give advice thats going to legitimately help u if u wont look at pre charts
Show me a pre chart. I’ll listen. I like how there’s mixed responses about call versus fold
This isn't exact to your situation, but it should give you some sense of what the different hand classes prefer in similar spots.
What about the semi common scenario of opening AJs utg full ring and an OMC nit 3 bets UTG+1? That seems nice snap fold @100 bb deep. Def not the exact scenario that happened in OP tho
Where did you get that chart from? Seems you can adjust certain aspects of it. How’s it work?

there isnt a nice way to say this but there are only mixed responses because other people also are unwilling to look at pre charts (anyone that suggests fold here pre is probably not a strong player). the rake and size of the 3bet and stack depth and relative edge will all impact what you do with your hand if its cuspy. your hand isn't close, you are printing continuing vs the 3bet in these / analogous positions and all of those factors (small 3b, no rake, deeper, playing vs random clown in your home game) make it more of a continue.
re my post im not talking about you looking at a chart that we post in your thread. the answers to pre are very much out there and not really subject to much adjustment (beyond very specific cases and potentially stack off ranges). if you're unwilling to put in basic effort to look at them and instead want to reinvent the wheel every decision or have people do the work for you idk what to tell you. i think its frustrating that you troll nearly every thread you post in on here while not understanding basic theory.
the solve is from gtowizard

Sure if you are talking about a real legit OMC nit that you know for sure only 3bets aces and kings then of course just fold. Thats uncommon though.
