Bloated spot OOP - played defensively okay?

I think pre-flop is kind of loose but it's the sort of thing you can get away with in a loose-passive game. The problem is the BTN is hardly ever folding, and so the SB will call as well and you will be multi-way OOP with a hand that really does not want to play multi-way OOP.

I like how you played post-flop. I think I would have played it the same (or maybe block bet river for $80). River I expect to see something like J9o a lot but it's half pot and you have taken a line which will induce bluffs. I don't expect a loose passive to value bet a worse hand when he can just get to showdown but against a decent opponent you could be value-catching here against QJ.

Fuller table I hate the open. 6 handed, I guess it’s reasonable. Would have sized down OTF which makes the river call easier. AP I guess I 50/50 call in game and 80/20 fold in the forum here.

Preflop is too loose without a button straddle, with the straddle on it's pretty bad regardless of who the straddle is. (Edit, missed it was 6 handed, in which case I'll downgrade my opinion from "bad" to "loose")

Flop and turn look good. I prefer a modest bet on the river, but check-call is probably fine.

I would default to betting flop for $60-65ish as this is as good as it gets for KJo no BDFD. If I’m looking for check combos it’d be something like A♥J♥, A♥T♥, K♥J♥ or Q♥J♥. All the offsuit Jx Broadway’s I’m betting flop as you’re good very often and have a wet board with three villains to extract value from.

I understand checking to let V bet worse for value or bluff, but at these stakes I think it's better to just bet our hand for value. Opponents aren't betting thinly enough or bluffing enough, but they bluff catch too much.

As played, calling river is fine.

I would cbet to around 50 instead of letting the button decide how much he's gonna make the pot. The key is we don't wanna make it too big with respect to the value of our hand. If the button bet pot otf and we call, it's just a recipe for disaster. Otherwise it was played fine.

I would probably lean to betting the flop and seeing what happens. As played, ok with calling but really kinda hating how we're now playing this huge bloated pot OOP against a guy who plays cautiously postflop.

Overall, I think we are much better off betting the river ourselves against this guy than checking, especially if he rarely bluffs. That way we guarantee money going in when ahead, whereas checking mostly just sees money go in when behind. Probably a sigh called as played.
