ATs vs UTG raiser
5/5
~$500 effective
Same player from the previous hand I posted here https://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/170/l...
UTG – Reg-fish, 40-year-old Asian. I see him regularly in the casino, but I’m not convinced he’s a good pro. He seems more like a semi-fish type of player because I’ve seen a lot of questionable plays from him, such as open limping preflop, calling too much preflop with marginal hands like K8s, etc.
UTG raises to $20, Hero(MP) A♥T♥ calls
Flop($50) Q♥ J♦ 9♣
UTG bets $30, Hero calls
Turn($110) 4♦
UTG checks, Hero bets $75, UTG calls
River($260) 2♣
UTG checks, Hero($375 left) - ?

Preflop is suss...why are we flatting in a live low stakes game especially with players yet to act behind us with position?
The turn is the inflection point here imo:
1) If we bet turn then we jam river. Flop is underbluffed by population so once villain check/calls their hand is essentially face up as AA-QQ, Jx, etc
2) I would probably xb turn. If we flopped a straight we would probably raise otf so now we are capped at JJ but our range is mostly a bunch of pair + straightdraw-type hands that want a cheap showdown.

These aren't signs of a bad player in 5/5 game if the game is somewhat passive and there are fish at the table.
