Need some villain descriptions. Also, why checking flop and why raising 5x pre? Assuming the btn straddle is 10.
brutal one. you have pretty good hand to call with in a spot people don't really bluff in but im having a hard time finding hands you lose to - like qt exactly?
it's petty and irrelevant here but id block somewhere unless utg is fish

checking flop because I think my range wants to go 50/50 here and I randomized it. Yep, BTN straddle is $10, so first to act in the SB, having to play OOP, I'd figure I'd go 5x here. Probably a close-to-pure fold in theory, but table was soft

AJ/J9 was my only real worry. Think most 10x that boats up is betting flop. although, how often does Villian do this with a worse 10 and what bluffs are really available besides Ah5h? We need to be good, what, ~30% of the time ($500 to win $1800)?
i think you need him to do this w qj or kj or kq to find bluffs lol
yeah agree, and I guarantee this guy is not turn KJ or KQ into a bluff at any freq
Yeesh. I dunno man.
I like checking range on flop from OOP, but when we do that here, we're super under-repped. On the turn, we could have anything and everything, yet V still calls a 2/3 pot bet, next to act.
I would think V would stab flop with some Qx and Tx, at least sometimes. Hard to give him credit for KT. I could see QTcc playing this way. Maybe also AJ. Those are the only value hands that make a lot of sense.
If we know he's capable of doing this with worse Tx, like T9, or his busted flush draws, I'd say we have to call. But few people are capable of raising as a bluff or with worse value in a spot like this. I think we should just fold.
