Big river lead with A-high - punt?

Big river lead with A-high - punt?

1/3 NLHE 9 handed.

V - Asian station. Plays kind of odd, very much a loose passive player but also stabs randomly. Overvalues hands a ton. Will call down half his stack with 2nd pair, NEVER folds an overpair. Like 99 on a 8-6-3fd and he's going broke vs sets and so on. Also very soft when he has nothing like say you have 77 and runout is like J-9-3-T-T he'll just check down AQ or AK a lot even IP. Tries to trap sometimes too and misses value. Uses huge sizings with hands he wants to protect, like AA pre he'll cold open like 30, flop HU OOP say 7-4-2r and he'll bet pot so he only gets called by better. Great player to be IP against and drill with SCs or something. Covers BTN.

--- H in CO with 400, V covers ---

two limps to H in CO who sees A T and opens to 20, V calls BTN, SB calls, one limper calls, 4-ways 3rd to act.

Flop 80 - Q J 6

Checks through

Turn 80 - 9

Checks to V who bets 20, SB folds, limper folds, H calls

River 120 - Q

H leads 120...

What hand are you representing on the river?

Just file this hand under the "Tilt" category and go to sleep.

You represent nothing, but they shouldn't be very strong, either. However, you call him a station, so I really don't like it.

If you want to play this post-flop, bet the flop, bet the turn, or check/raise the turn (don't like that, either, but better than river bomb).

Our ace high might actually be good here often enough to check river, if action checks through.

If we're going to make this play, I think it works better as an over bet. If I'm V and you over bet, I might think you have 99, and I'll insta-fold any hand that isn't Qx. But that's repping super thin.

If your read is right, you're thinking this guy bet 9x (or 6x?) on the turn, because he'd have bet flop with Qx/Jx, and he'd have over-bet the turn with KT? If he's a thinking player, and has 9x, he may be capable of figuring out you don't have 99, and you're FOS.

Otherwise, if he's a calling station, he might get sticky with whatever pair he may have bet on the turn. You'll want to hurl if he calls with 6x.

I dunno, man. This is another one that just seems unnecessary, or FPS.

I'm fine with preflop although also think overlimping 2 limpers isn't a crime either.

Also checking this flop 4ways which should smash some of our opponents.

Also check/calling this small bet on the turn.

I'm grunching, but I certainly hope someone has already responded "go home Banana, you're drunk" cuz river seems like setting money on fire against this guy.

Think you're overthinking this - he's a station who probably telegraphs his hand strength based on sizing and pots here. Seems like the best way to exploit this type is to value bet thinner, bluff less. Should be able to print money vs people like this who don't have a fold button

ugh yeahhhh thanks everyone

go home Banana, you're drunk

You'll be hearing from my lawyers.

so you are repping a Q after checking both the flop and turn with top pair? seriously?

I wouldnt mind a c bet here on the flop with an over, backdoor diamonds and gut shot. Dont think your lead is that credible and half the hands that will fold you were probably beating on showdown
