54s from the blinds

To be honest, I played this hand from UTG while racking up because it was my last hand. But it's more of a question how to play this type of hand from the blinds.

I limp, 7-8 players to the flop of 542 rainbow. Checks to me, I check with the plan of CRing a LP bet. Player to my left bets, all call to me. I call with plan of now CRing safe turns?

Turn 2. Not overly worried about someone holding a 2 but now 66+ is beating me. Checks to me, I check, player to my left bets again. All call to me. Yes, there's still 7 players in the pot. Hero?

So many times from the blinds I might have something like K6 when the flop comes 642 and I'll bet out then everybody calls with overs or gutters. Of course when the turn is an overcard it's tough. I'll typically go ahead and bet a non A,3,5 turn in this situation.

I just wasn't at all satisfied with how I played the hand. Guess it's a good lesson on why you don't limp with crap in EP.

Fold pre (assuming you are utg) Not raising the flop is criminal

For the record, only reason I played the hand was because I was leaving. It’s a fold all day from UTG.

Do you think that's a good reason?

If I had been in the BB with this hand as an alternate scenario, I would have bet the flop, hoping to be raised.

Don’t limp. If you really want to screw around with 54s because it’s your last hand, just raise. But you should just fold PF.

I prefer to CR this flop and you literally have the best possible situation to c/r now that UTG+1 bet. Calling is absolutely criminal here. If turn is a 6/3/A you can donk check but for now just focus on shoveling the $ in.

Ahh yes, 20/40 strat at a 4/8 table lmao. In the game that you described this is a clear limp from all positions. (7 -8 players to the flop and seven are still there on turn) You don't want to raise early because you're hoping for a family pot. and 54s is a lil to weak to raise late IMO. OBVIOUSLY, you should have raised the flop. Axs would be a limp from early position for the same reason ....we want a family pot, only dif is with Axs you should be raising in late position.
