8/16 AKs connects with the flop

Posting one other HH from my foray into learning limit.

Hero still uncertain of table image, trying to not make dumb mistakes.

Main villain is a (different) solid seeming reg, has been quite aggressive when warranted with one pair, Ace-high, etc.

Hero picks up Ac Kc in LJ, and opens. Extremely loose-passive fish in CO cold calls, and V in BB calls.

Flop ($48): Ah 6c 2c

V checks, H bets, CO folds, V goes for the check-raise, H 3-bets (???), V calls.

Turn ($94): Ah 6c 2c Kh

V checks, H bets, V calls.

River ($125): Ah 6c 2c Kh 8d

V checks, H bets, V calls.

You can wait to turn to raise heads up in position but this is fine

Okay - wasn't sure if I was getting OOL with just one pair on the flop.

Do you check back the turn unimproved? Not sure what a typical flop x/r range would be, but picking up the King meant I was now ahead of A6 and A2. And AK/AQ would have 3b?

Villain showed 22.

I was surprised he didn't check-raise me on the river after all the draws bricked, wondered just how much strength I was repping with the flop 3b. To be fair, the last hand I bet/raised at every opportunity against him I showed down an AA overpair, so maybe he was thinking I'm a nit.

This is where it pays to know your opponents. Some players only donk the flop with two pair or better. Others will donk any ace. Etc

But you flopped a monster so raise is fine and never check any turn

Yeah your opponent missed value here and I have no issue with how you played the hand. If I had 22 here in Villain's shoes I would 4bet flop every day and twice on Sunday.

You didn't have "just one pair" on the flop, you had one pair plus the nut flush draw. HUGE difference.

Had a very similar spot that's starting to feel a little bit more normal, but thought I'd steal this thread for a quick line check.

Main villain is tight-passive but not egregiously so, just won't bluff or go for super-thin value and doesn't call too much.

Hero picks up Ah Kc in MP, opens. V behind makes it 3 bets, SB and BB (both 20/40 regs who seem decent but not caring about trying at these stakes) take 3 cold. Hero makes it 4 bets (not the cap), all call.

Flop (8 BB): Ac 9x 4c

Blinds check, H bets, V raises, blinds fold, H 3-bets, V calls.

Turn (11 BB): Ac 9x 4c Ax

H bets, V calls and mutters something like "that's not a good card".

River (13 BB): total brick, like 7x maybe?

H bets, V calls.
