Still trying to learn the more subtle balance of limit here, curious if this is standard or if there are obvious errors:

V1 in MP is a dealer, reasonably competent from all the dealing, but not a shark.

V2 in CO is LAGfish bordering on maniac. If he raises post, he usually has it, but aggros pre with all kinds of cards and will aggro when checked to post, especially with draws as well as made hands and some air. Has been running hot recently, making hands on the turn and river from few outs.

V1 opens, V2 3-bets. Hero looks at Ad Td on the button and decides to cold call (?). Blinds fold, and we're 3 ways to the flop.

Flop (4.5 BB): Qh Ts 7c

V1 x, V2 bets, H calls, V1 calls.

Turn (6 BB): Qh Ts 7c 3s

V1 x, V2 bets, H calls, V1 calls.

Turn (9 BB): Qh Ts 7c 3s 6d

V1 x, V2 bets, H calls, V1 calls.

Calling down with second pair top kicker 3 ways correct here, or should it be a fold at any point?

Cold calling 3 is terrible, you’re ahead of V2’s range and in position. Cap.

As played, I’d play it the same but hate it. But it’s the passivity pre that put you in that position.

Size the pot in relation to the bets you're using. There should be 10.5 small bets (SB) in there on the flop, 6.75 big bets (BB) ott, and 9.75 BB otr, less rake. Probably not $12 on the flop but shrug I dunno.

Im closer to raising the flop than calling please don't fold. As played given read turn is fine. As played, I think raising river is better than calling.

Cap pre flop. As played raise OTF and don’t fold.

Cap PF, raise flop as played, definitely don't fold at any point.

I know it's sort of TAGfishy and that this is no longer the Year of Our Lord 2008, but I kind of like a FSDR on this turn given that you have another player in the pot.

Echoing other (better) players, cap pre and the flop raise should give you alot of info on how to play the rest of the hand.

For MUNGA- suggesting an as-played river raise, what are you targeting besides V1s possible JJ? V2 probably not folding a better hand, maybe he has KT/JTo/t9 so value?

Yeah either raise or fold preflop depending on v1. Probably cap

A dealer is in the hand? Cap for sure, we need those tips back.

I think we can be a little more optimistic about better hands folding because of the change in nuts on the river. Our story is pretty good having just called twice on the flop in bad relative position. That V2 might call worse sometimes isnt what we are relying on here.

Thanks, some interesting things to consider here, especially a flop raise. Not something I would normally think of (as primarily a NL player) with second pair, but I think I see the idea in this config.

V1 shows 99. V2 shows 98ss.

Raising river was not going to work πŸ˜€

V1 went on pretty big tilt about getting 3b and then beat by 98.

i cant see FSDR on turn working vs maniac b/c we cant fold to a 3b
