8/16 KJs caught in the crossfire

Another hand where I am struggling a little bit with the idea of not overfolding in limit, but I suspect I was too wedded to my hand.

V1 in SB is a MABG just moved from a broken game and this is his first hand. No reads.

V2 in MP a dealer (same as other thread), now down almost four racks and on pretty major tilt.

V2 opens, folds to H in CO with Kc Jc. Hero makes it 3 bets, SB calls cold, V2 calls.

Flop (4.5 BB): Jd 8c 4d

V1 x, V2 x, H bets, V1 raises, V2 makes it 3 bets, H calls (???), V1 4-bets (nb. cap is 5), V2 calls, H calls.

Turn (10.5 BB): Jd 8c 4d 7s

V1 bets, V2 raises, Hero wakes up to the level of aggression and folds. V1 calls...

Looks fine

Well played.

Limit requires a lot of optimism.

Huh. I definitely thought that calling 3 bets on the flop to get dragged along for 4 was bad... what are we even hoping for versus V2 at that point? At the table I think I just was being blind stubborn with top pair.

River is inconsequential and V1 check-calls the river.

V1 has AA, V2 has 44.

Many players put in a ton of action on wet flops like this with hands that cannot beat TPGK. You also have a backdoor flush draw which is worth a bit, particularly in a pot of this size. When people start putting in a bunch of action on the turn (particularly on a turn that completes an obvious draw), that is when you can start concluding that top pair is screwed.
