SB dilemma TPWK facing bet and raise

4/8 8 handed. BB is a tourney player, plays 4/8 waiting for tourneys or if he busts early. Has a clue.

MP V is new to the table, not many hours with him, he is a mix game know- it- all plays LAGish.

4 limps to me in the SB I complete with j8o, BB raises, call all around. 6 BB.

Flop is J74 with 2 diamonds. I have the 8 diamonds.

I check planning to CR, which in hindsight was a poor decision considering PF raiser is directly to my left, I think a donk would have been better.

BB bets, call, MP raises, folds to me. All my options seem gross.

I might fold preflop the first time, and then I’d fold for sure the second time. it’s just too shit of a hand to play against people with a clue.

fold flop to this action doesn’t seem gross at all to me. you don’t want the 8d facing this action.

Easy fold and I wouldn’t remember the hand 5 minutes later. This is never a call, I’d 3 bet before I’d call but that’s super spewy.

Curious, would any of you guys complete/fold pre since typically a BB raise pre in 4-8 is super strong?

I did fold, being results oriented I guess.

Turns out I had the winner.

Surprised CRD might fold pre here.

ntn- I might consider the complete fold line if BB was a total LP and is raising here only QQ+....this V was opening wider so I felt I could see a flop getting pretty good odds to call the raise.

They say if you never fold a winner you’re not folding enough.

I would fold preflop because rake is insane at 4/8 and your hand does not play well against the limping range of people with a clue.

I wouldn't fold preflop, even in a 4/8 game. J8o is obviously not a premium hand, but you're getting 9:1 the first time around and 11:1 the second time around, so I would be inclined just to see a flop and go from there, and I expect you'll be able to continue profitably on a lot of flops.

I would fold the flop. MP's raise is very strong (he raised after the PF raiser led and another player called in between), you probably don't have the best hand, and you have some RIO. I wouldn't focus on the results here - you will occasionally fold winners in LHE and that's OK.
