8 16 BTN straddle 66 UTG plus 1

I posted the start of this hand in PF checkup section-

8 16 8 handed, BTN straddle from loose young guy, SB loose older asian guy, BB tighter older asian lady.
UTG is LAG-ish MA asian guy

SB and BB call, UTG raises, I am next with 66 and 4! even though I am almost 100% sure they will all call except maybe old asian lady. They all call. 10 BB

Flop is 972r. Checks to me. If I bet they will be calling with almost anything. Do I bet here planning to fire another shell on the turn?

Pre you are set mining so there’s no real point in four betting you want people in the pot

If I'm set mining I want at least 4 total players in the pot. Is that a reasonable thought?

As I mentioned in the other thread, I'm OK with the 4! pre here because you're basically guaranteed at least 4 players in the pot.

I'm betting this flop expecting all to call and then check to me on any turn card. I guess the question is which turn cards to bet and which to check. I'm thinking bet any 6 obviously, any under card, and any card that pairs the board. Although I'm wondering if that borders on spew. This is sometimes where I get in trouble, spewing in big pots.

You’d rather have 8 than 4

Agree that call is better than 4bet. As played on flop we got a free card, why not take it? We can still credibly delay cbet the turn, or check again and try to pick off a bluff.

I would just fold pre. This is close to the worst possible configuration for 66.

As played I would check the flop. You’re not getting the button to fold getting 21:1 so just check, hope you get a free card, and see what happens on the turn.

Yeah, in this scenario I usually fold pre as I am OOP with 66 multiway facing a raise and possible raises behind. I do see the argument for set mining with the loose passive players in the pot already with just a call.

I checked flop, BTN checked and turn was a 6. Bet, 2-3 callers.

I boated up with a river 2, got raised by the BTN, 3!, looked like he 4! when he splashed a bunch of chips but he said he just called when I declared 5! and dealer let him take some chips back(wtf). He mucked.

Again, I've never played with a button straddle so this is a really weird spot that I've never been in, but I probably fold 66 here. It's close though.

If you do play it this way, I definitely bet the flop. If you're 4 betting preflop, it should be because sometimes you think you can win the hand unimproved, and this is a better than average flop for you, but you really want to get a fold or two here.
