Fun with Fours
Decent tag opens the LJ, I three bet 44 in the CO, the biggest nit in the world calls with SB, LJ calls.
This nit cold calls and limps with QQ waiting for a "safe" board to put in action.
Flop is T42r.
Sb checks, LJ donks, I raise, SB calls, LJ three bets, I call, SB calls.
Turn is 9d putting up a diamond draw.
Sb checks, LJ bets, I raise, both call,
River is 2x.
SB checks, LJ bets . . . .
So I think its close. I can't quite figure out what the LJ plays this way. 22 is certainly in there but I'd say not TT or 99. And I might make the same with an overcall.

Seems like a lot of action has gone in and I’d hate to be 3bet here. I agree with call. I imagine he might even be bet/folding here some of the time.
I think it’s a river raise because I doubt LJ put u on many 44 here and there is only 3 combo of TT .
SB seem to have something like JJ
Why would LJ not 3bet 99 on turn ?
Anyway nothing wrong going for
Overcall .
Really doubtful sb fold on river .
Lj would not three bet flop with 99
If LJ had 22, 99, or TT I think he would reraise the turn especially with the flush draw.
I’m guessing he had A2 or an overplayed big pocket pair and I would raise the river donk.
It's really close. On the one hand, I tend to think that most decent players would c/r the river with quads. You should be betting pretty much every river after you raise/call flop and raise the turn, he has the SB stuck between the two of you, and a donk from a good player on this river should set off alarm bells and slow you down. On the other hand, letting the SB overcall means you can get an extra bet from him without worrying about having to pay off a 3bet. I probably raise at game speed, but a call might ultimately be better from the cool glow of my computer screen.
If we didn’t know that the sb is pretty much always calling and never has a set here as played it’s probably closer. Or if we didn’t know that LJ is tag and therefore probably never 3bets worse than a full house on the river.
I don’t hate raising though as a default play. It can’t be that bad to raise a full house lol In fact if we think SB is bad enough to call two bets on the river with an overpair then it’s mandatory.
Fold pre, raise river as played IMO. If you’re behind he just gets to win 3 bets.
Folding pre is so boring (but correct)
Yeah, I mean IIRC you play in a super soft private game where it probably can't be that bad when you add in the fun equity. When I muck 44 here I make absolutely certain it won't inadvertently flip up.
