Well at least I got the last raise in.
Well at least I got the last raise in.

Well at least I got the last raise in.

Typical LA 20-40 game.

Five limpers and I check in the BB with K6o.

Flop comes Q65r.

Early position limper bets, two callers, and I call.

I haven’t played with the better much but he has a very unorthodox playing style. He tries to be tricky and probably bluffs too much.

Turn is a 6.

Board is now Q 6 5 6 with a flush draw.

I check, limper bets, one player calls, and I check raise. He mumbles that my raise is a string bet. Other player folds and I call.

River is a K.

Bet, he raises, I raise and he calls.

Nice river card. I’d play the hand the same. Sounds like villains most likely hand is KQ Q6 65 or 55.

Is there another way to play this? Being beat seems so unlikely here.

i dont see how could you ever be losing here. maybe you were thinking of CRing the river, which i dislike.

turn action is not clear....you c/r and then what did you call? A cap?

Sorry, my narrative is not clear. I check raised and after his speech much to my surprise he raised and then I called.

Oh he 3bet the turn. I was under the impression that he called your raise.

I think it’s still good. It’s hard to put them on QQ or KK given preflop, and there are enough combos of 55 and one 56s combo that makes sense.

Yeah this is fine, you probably sucked out on the river

So you check raised the river, called a 3bet, and then donk-3bet the river? If so, nice hand.

Much to my surprise the limper had QQ. I thought he most likely had 65 or 55. I have no idea why he didn’t get the final raise in. He must have thought I had 66 or KK. Poker is still good in LA.
