Bike 40 - 69, Dude!

Afternoon game that has temporarily gone 3 handed. BTN (very old middle eastern man who does not seem great but who I don't quite have a handle on) opens and SB (40ish white LAG) cold calls the SB. I call the BB with 69hh.

Flop T69r, I have a BDFD. SB checks, I donk, BTN raises, SB calls 2 cold, I 3bet, BTN calls, SB calls.

Turn J. SB checks, I bet, BTN raises, SB calls 2 cold again, I call.

River 7. SB donks, I fold.

I c/r flop here because I expect button to bet everything.

I feel you on the river but I just can’t let it go getting 15 or whatever to 1. If I was a full ring game you might persuade me.

A player, who is described as a LAG, has played passively on every street and then leads river. I do not think we are ever good here.

The turn card was really bad for you. I may have just checked there.

This situation doesn't happen often in overall game but happen quite often enough where people correctly fold riv to donk. And so you got to figure out if you were in Sb what hands you need to pre game to donk bluffs. The pot is quite big that having two people incorrectly fold is huge ev.

Just an observation, but shouldn't we be more inclined to make HERO calls in Limit as opposed to Hero folds?

seems weird to check two pair on the turn but that turn either beats you or makes more than 1/2 the deck kill your hand on the river. i think checking is best too but i have to admit i probably wouldnt think to do it.

Often against one player. But here both other players are saying they have you beat, and you're not closing the action.

Maybe pre solver the hero call is correct. the problem after solver are those super aggro non solver guys that was bluffing a lot went busto. Maybe the climate will change in future to make hero call more +profitable but I doubt it.

What does SB have? Can't have a decent hand or he would have raised pre flop, right? Only hands that make sense to me are J8, Q8, or a hand like 8/5 suited or something like that? Don't play this high so I'm not sure what im talking about LMAO! Ewww what if SB has QJ & button had QQ or KK orrr AA, lol...you folded the winner. I think you have to call here with two pair, but once again, WHAT DO I KNOW!!! LMAO!

Anything is possible, but for SB to have QJ wouldn't make much sense.
He would just be calling after making top pair on the turn, then donking the river (basically turning his hand into a bluff) when a scare card comes.

He could also have 86, 88, 98, T8. Flops a pair and a gutshot, picks up a double gutshot on the turn. I think those 4 are his most likely hands.

I think he 3bets 88 pre flop but the others are all very plausible hands.

I was thinking last night. You hit a somewhat disguised str8, which is basically the nuts, annnnnd you have two guys betting and raising....why would you donk? Wouldn't a CR be better? Or is donking correct because we are hoping to get raised? I mean that 7 isn't that big of a scare card is it?

It is a pretty big scare card when it makes a one card straight and the guy has been calling every bet like he's on a draw. He's certainly not going to get more than one bet out of a decent player. I would usually donk a straight there.

This is 100% correct. This is a three-handed pot where one player donk-3bet the flop and the other player raised PF, raised the flop, and raised the turn. SB is donking into both of them, and it would be downright suicidal to do this with worse than 8x.

Smitty I agree that he has the straight. I'm questioning why donk into two people who have been betting and raising on flop n turn. Why not check Raise!? Makes me wonder if he really did have the str8???? More i think about it.....you gotta call here with two pair.

Ummmm...you know the more I think about this. So on the flop the SB called two to the face...with action left behind him....with an 8? ( a gut shot?) and not a pair of 88 cause he raises those preflop. In a small pot????? If SB wasn't bluffing....itd be a great spot to do so! I mean he got the two pair hand to fold and button could easily have a big pair and if he is folding two pair.....wouldn't be hard to believe button would fold a big pair.

And here we have proof that poker will never die! Huzzah!

your post makes no sense

btn raised. sb sounds like a bad player. a bad player is going to cold call the sb with plenty of hands he should be folding or 3betting. including hands like 88 or 98.

similarly, anyone bad enough to cold call the sb vs a button raise is not going to fold a pair+gutter on the flop vs a raise.

My post makes no sense????? LMAO!!! yea I know button raised and SB is taking Two to the face...with action still left behind....what part of that doesn't make sense to you? And its not just a raise..its a raise and reraise. In a small pot. So in your opinion old man lol...this is a fold or raise spot for SB preflop....no hands should just be calling here?

if you dont know something elementary like the sb should be 3b or fold vs a button raise and no limpers, you either are a troll or dont understand LHE. this is like LHE 101.

also you apparently didnt understand my post at all. i suggest you read more carefully.

Death donkey actually did a video saying you can play a split range if you want

LMAO!!!! First off Old Man...ALL rules are meant to be broken!!! If I had say j10s, or a suited weak Ace I might just call here and invite BB to come along. Don't wanna fold, But dont want to end up in a capped pot. I understand your post...he's a bad player and bad players do bad things...very insightful Old man, lmao. But who said he was a bad player? Your SNAP assessment because he just called the buttons raise. But the guy could be brilliant, especially if he is bluffing the river...(what a GREAT move!) AM I troll....I CAN BE...LMAO!!!!!!!! However, if I were trolling you'd know it. Believe me......youd know it. lol. As for my understanding of the game...I will let my past post speak for themselves.
