Vanessa Alvarez (Mamacita) owes over $17,000 (payments not in progress)
A huge error in judgement, I made the mistake of using Mamacita (Vanessa Alvarez) as an agent on the Pokerbros app. This arrangement began in the Spring of 2021. I have used many agents and this is the only issue I've run into of being completely worried that my funds are gone.
In November of 2021 I met Vanessa in person at the Wynn/Encore poker room to collect $5000 in cash.
By March 2022 her communication was becoming less reliable, and rakeback for many weeks of play was failing to be deposited. I decided I wanted to cash out and be done with this agent. At the time my balance with her was over $14,000 USD, and a close friend also had $6,000 USD that she wanted to collect. After weeks of not responding, she called me to say that she was the victim of some Bitcoin scammer and promised that we would be paid.
Since then it has been mostly stalling and empty promises, other than the occasional small payment. In 7 months I have managed to receive $3000 in small payments, bring the current balance for me down to just over $11,000 USD. My friend has received nothing.
A reminder to anyone out there using these agent run apps to be very careful who you trust.
Bump. Pretty sure I saw her at Orleans last night playing NL. She was in street clothes and not done up as normal but I am pretty sure it was her.
Any update here? Did she pay? In naturals? Or what is going on OP?
i played on a cruise ship last year where the rake was 10% up to $25 max with no bonuses/jackpots/etc and the players were so unbelievably spewy and bad, it was still a profitable trip.
Yup, played a game just like that on a cruise. Exact same awful 10%/$25 rake structure, and horrendously bad opponents. Was 7-handed. Me, one below-average but not awful guy, and 5 outright huge fish.
I busted all 6 of them. The biggest winner was.... the rake! I still won, but I couldn't believe how busting 6 players still made me second to the rake as far as profit.
Still can't figure out if these type of games are profitable or not long term for a good/decent player.
I wonder if the OP's grand kids are gonna wanna chase down this POS trash woman for the rest of this money when the OP is dead and gone? No way he ever lives to see all his money returned.
Cheers!!!

Guess you never had the joy of watching three nut straights each cost you 10% of your stack as you chopped the pot.(I bought for $100 and was the largest stack).
Bump. I need to know what's happened since
OP is getting paid so no long concerned with potential impacts to the community
The end
She will miss a payment in 8 months and OP will be back pretending to give a ****
Nah, my bet is she hasn't paid a dime lately.

lol @ thinking she will make it 8 months, she's much more likely to make 0 payments during that time than to only miss one
I have complete confidence she’ll pay!
I've pretty much left this behind now, I've got better things to be bothered with in life, and almost never think about it except to think, "oh yeah I guess one day I'll have to update that thread."
After the initial payments sputtered out (about 30% of the outstanding amount got paid over the course of about a year), nothing happened for a while. Then some guy who was apparently backing her during the WSOP started calling me and claimed he was going to get payments made. Nothing ever happened and I guess it was just a bunch of stalling and bullshit tactics.
So it's become clear that about ~$11,000 will never be collected and from everything I gather, the character (Vanessa) I was dealing with is basically a broke degenerate loser. I'm not particularly interested in wasting any of my time interacting with such people. She'll have to live with the knowledge that she's a scamming degenerate, and that the poker community she wants to be a part of knows it. She can go live with that.
She was given every opportunity for 2.5 years to fix her mess. Over an amount of money that anyone who isn't completely broke or dishonest can come up with.
So yes, the conclusion is that she isn't someone to trust or do any forms of business with.
glad you finally came to your senses
sucks that this happened
Sadly one should assume this will be the outcome 99% of the time with the majority of those never receiving any repayment on the debt. I have a hard no policy on loaning money even to those I consider trustworthy and/or friends.

There was no loan in this case. Carnivore was playing using Mamacita as the agent. The debt is winnings, rake back, etc.
Glad you finally realized what was obvious when this started.
Scumbags gonna scumbag.
What's amazing is over a relatively small amount of money she'll likely cost herself more in the long run. Anyone who is an agent for these games can print money if they're ethical with their players and don't get involved with scumbags.
Lets be honest, if this was the only time you got stiffed up on these shady app games, you ran _way_ above ev.
