Dec 15 - 225.3 lbs
Today - 225 lbs

Deeb tweeted 10 hours ago that he’s down to 225 lbs, so he’s stagnated over Christmas which is probably to be expected, no big deal, but now he needs to refocus. He’s not posting BF/LMM readings, he should get a better set of scales. He’s flying blind if he’s only paying attention to his weight.

He’s going to balloon back up after the bet

Hopefully not. It was sad to see Jamie Staples lose all that weight to win the bet and then put it all back on when it was over.

With three highly effective weight loss drugs now on the market, if someone obese wants to lose weight there's no reason why they shouldn't try to. And, provided the side effects are tolerable (which they've proven to be for most), no reason why 10-20% loss of body weight isn't achievable.

Why not just do it the right way

What's wrong about using a weight loss drug?

With the right doctors (drugs), doctors (loose skin surgery) and support team its possible. 30km bike ride to and from work each day will get you close. Doing it the hard way isnt a thing

There’s the right way, the wrong way, and the way I do it

Just tweeted

His latest dexa scan: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/GEvJk1nWoAAx...

Skin is not fat mass. He wants as much skin as possible to win this bet. It would be great for him if he could add some lbs of skin actually.

Good for him regardless, how many people have a resolution to lose weight and fail miserably, good job!

Lol all the people advocating for pharma drugs in this chat. Parts of society have totally lost their minds.

Good on Shaun. Anyone actually attempting a bet like this can't lose imo. Either you win and win money, or you lose but you're still way healthier than where you started, which presumably is more than worth the cost of the buy-in. I think Shaun would happily agree that even if he loses it'll have been worth paying the price.

The only way you really lose is if you bet and do nothing.

Looking the healthiest in that pic than I can ever remember seeing him.

This ignores the significant amount of money he has spent / is spending to try to win the challenge - nutritionist, trainer, flying assistant out to WSOP to arrange for all of his meals, etc. etc.

Still think (esp for a well-off guy) these are minor costs given the upsides of not being fat any more. Although that's assuming he keeps all or most of the weight off after the bet is over, which is a big if.

pretty impressive actually! nice job, Shaun.

All that money would be very well spent even if he didn't make this bet.

Why would Perkins buy out? The last 5% is literally the hardest to lose. Weird..Must be cool to have millionaire friends just giving you free money.

Happy for Deeb but I literally thought the same thing.

maybe he just wanted to reward him for doing it. really makes no sense from an actual betting standpoint to buy out for 80 percent at this point.

Maybe Perk thought giving Deeb the win was best for Deeb's long term health EV. If Deeb went all the way to the end and came up 1% short the sense of failure might cause him to rebound eat his way into an early grave.

Just speculating. Perk doesn't think like your typical poker player.

yeah that was def perkins not giving a **** about money wagered against friends. good for deeb to basically be freerolling 2024 wsop

Then he should have made another bet to make sure he maintained the fat loss. Something like 23% limit in 12 months. I expect Deeb to just blow up again.

Wouldn't be surprised since that's what happened to Jaime Staples. Real shame with him, he looked great when he won the bet. But if you don't address the underlying psychological reasons that cause overeating in the first place, then I think it's pretty much impossible to maintain the weight loss long term. Hope Shaun can figure it out since he looks and probably feels great
