2024 World Series of Poker May 28th to July 17th ***No Spoilers***
The 2024 WSOP will take place at Horseshoe Las Vegas and Paris Las Vegas from May 28 to July 17, 2024, with the Main Event running from July 3 to July 17. The Main Event – poker’s undisputed freezeout world championship – will have four starting days, beginning on Wednesday, July 3. Players may also register directly on Day 2.
PA elected to the HoF. Fits the criteria better than any of the other nominees IMO, but they really need to start letting in 2-3 people per year.
No they dont. It should be special, not just something that every grinder with some bracelets gets into automatically. With 1 a year only the actual best get into it so its a bigger honor for those who make it in.
No, if Foxen wins it just gives a much bigger voice to her lunatic conspriacy theories and extreme fringe politics.
I would be rooting hard for virtually any woman in poker to win it besides her.
TBF, go look at her twitter account now. She deleted most of that stuff and it's basically just poker now. So people who may be new and find her on there would only see that and not even be aware of the stuff she was tweeting during covid.
isnt main starting at 2 pm?
Agreed, I think the impact of a woman winning from a 'boom' perspective is being wildly overestimated.
Far far far fewer people are watching the main event now than the good old days is the reason you're not going to get a "boom" per se. 2003 main event episodes were shown repeatedly for months and now it's on an app that only the diehard followers of the game even know exists.
To boom or not to boom would be entirely dependent on the media’s response.
If she wins and the national and international media blow the story up, it will certainly spark a lot more female interest in poker as they may finally realize it’s not just a “boys game.”
If she wins and it’s only covered by PokerNews and other poker-centric outlets, it’ll be a small pop rather than a boom.
Good start with hot mic sniffles
Still waiting for that tournament-defining hand like Su/Ensan (2019), Manion/Labat/Zhu (2018), Duhamel/Affleck (2010) or Moon/Kopp (2009).
Surely someone gets coolered or punts today to create a 100M+ chip monster.
The Billy Kopp meltdown and his subsequent attempts to justify it is my favorite.
Tank tops on men should never be allowed at the table. No one wants to see your hairy underarms.
Players are on a $100k bubble right now, right?
Edit: Broadcast just confirmed.
Haha Griff is from New City, NY - wonder if he ever ran boiling oats as a child?

Marchington/ Ensan wasn't it? When Marchington punted his chip lead straight into Ensan's and Ensan never looked back from there.
Also gotta mention the Weinman jacks hand last year and the Lococo/Aldemir hand from 2021.

Well, Su got all the chips from Greenwood and then gave all the chips to Ensan in I think a TP vs. set spot near the FT bubble.
There were a few big hands that year, but this is what put Hossein in the driver's seat.
kakitee said he thought he remembered krissyb being involved in some MultiAccounting scandal back in the day (but to be fair, he said he couldnt recall the exact details)
however, that, along with the foxen-foxen chip dumping she "Allegedly" did at a Final table last year is just adding to the sketchy vibes i get from her.
But in the poker world, everyone is out for themselves so it's not like she's the only one trying to squeeze every last bit of EV, no matter what it takes.
With all that said, i definitely wouldnt feel comfortable playing her online, i wouldnt put it past her to let her husband use her account, and definitely wouldnt want to be in a table where both foxens are at the table because I'd assume i'd be up against a team play strategy

The Davis vs Hernandez AA vs KK all-in preflop on Day 7 was huge. Davis started the day as the chip leader and became the short stack.
Also 2023 Weinman/Maceiras/Payne hand of KK/QQ/JJ, with Weinman getting a J on the turn.
Moroz playing range advantage well
Damn, Hernandez was fun. I literally don't remember a hand from the guy who knocked him out.
That was brutal. Most suck outs are obvious but that kind of bad beat takes a bit to register
Maria just fainted in the booth when this leaf-man just called off with QJo
She'd have folded QQ
Breaking all time hug records on the way out
I thought bryant was going for the kiss with that long awkward hug
