2024 World Series of Poker May 28th to July 17th ***No Spoilers***
The 2024 WSOP will take place at Horseshoe Las Vegas and Paris Las Vegas from May 28 to July 17, 2024, with the Main Event running from July 3 to July 17. The Main Event – poker’s undisputed freezeout world championship – will have four starting days, beginning on Wednesday, July 3. Players may also register directly on Day 2.
Saw someone on twitter point out that if you 3b someone and see someone loading up the 4b you could just snap muck and basically get your 3b back lol.
That's assuming they aren't using any judgment in making a ruling. If someone is clearly trying to angle I'd expect a much different result.
Yeah, I would want the dealer to prevent the situation as possible, and the floor to make a ruling based on logic and fairness and all the circumstances as needed. Even something like the dealer announcing "raise to 25,000" then a person raises to 70,000 and then mucks once the blinds fold might get less protection since they also had auditory confirmation that someone else was in, where in the actual hand there was a limper which is generally not announced, and can be very concealed with one chip in certain locations on the felt and players covering cards.
I'm rather amazed at that ruling. That's something that's fairly normal to let slide in a cash game 'ahh he didn't realize the limper' but in a WSOP tournament?? That money is not coming out of the pot, come on
So glad we’ll be able to watch an hour of the $100k today. By the time coverage starts they’ll be at the FT bubble and then the play will end for the day

About half of them were max late reg
Is Daniel Aharoni, the guy chipleading the 100k, a pro? Only 170k or so in lifetime tourney cashes, mostly in WPT Borgata stuff

Probably a cash player
Wow Blom is chip-leader now with a 50bb stack. What a turbo structure. Seems silly to have one of the biggest buy ins be like this but maybe it’s to hopefully attract VIPs who want it over fast?
Isildur1 at it again. This will be fun.
On another note: has Aido lost a flip all WSOP?
I find the max late reg lists interesting in these buy ins, hard to imagine they sell 80% to reg with 10bb ?
Maybe I'm wrong
With regards to the accidental button muck, marathur1 would own dnegs post so he probably makes EV, also remember it happening in main few years back with a Greek guy who went on to make ft who had AK and opener had opened/limped aa
The rake is super small in high buy in events like 3%. The very best players definitely still have an edge over the field even starting at 10bbs. Obviously at the initial stages with 10 bb their edge is minimal, but if they double up a couple times their edge grows exponentially.
I've watched Blom's progression over the years...a lot of people would rail him in the begining, naturally..
Around 2013-2018 when pokerstars was king, and NLHE high stakes were not that popular, everyone was duking it out at mixed game tables playing 4k/8k triple draw, 1k/2k 8-game, and Blom played them all..
But what i noticed was that anytime he was busto he would replenish his roll playing large field NLHE MTTs. There were a couple time when USA players could download the pokerstars client and see all the action.
There were a few times I saw Blom in 1st 2nd, or generally in the top 10 finishes of some pretty big NLHE MTTs.
He's always been a crusher in NLHE

One of the first live tournaments he ever played was the $100k PCA which he shipped. He also won one of the COOP main events and a couple other ones throughout the years. He really is a sicko and is the closest possible thing to a reincarnation of Stu Ungar. Could you imagine if he had the focus and work ethic that the top players do? He would undoubtedly be in the goat conversation

no doubt he would be a top contender...but i guess to play as well as he does he has to be feeling fresh and in the zone. hard to do if you study NLHE for 7 hours straight, every day.
He made a mistake and didn't realize another person had a live hand. He had put more big blinds into the pot than he was forced to pay after the ruling. That is rewarding a mistake that a player made due to his failure to observe the action.
Whether or not he gets to play for the pot or not is not even a question since he mucked his hand.
Because the bet wasn’t called. Why should a player win a bet that was never called? If DN called the bet and then the guy mucked, he loses the full amount.

That doesnt matter mid hand. every chip put in play is part of the pot and the pot goes to the winner of the hand.....he folded his hand.....he gets no chips back.

Except that’s not true. The rule is clear on this. Whether or not the rule makes sense is open to debate but because you don’t like the way it went down doesn’t mean it was wrong.
so there is no free stream on youtube for this 100k high roller FT right?
Blom chip leader with 8 left. 110 big blinds. Next closest has 37 I think it showed. I hope he ships this and then the $250k. Would be one of the most epic runs in a long time

Sure but their ev is based on when they enter.
so they are or arent showing the FT tonight?
been looking at the pokernews updates and blom was really sun running today
