2024 World Series of Poker May 28th to July 17th ***No Spoilers***
The 2024 WSOP will take place at Horseshoe Las Vegas and Paris Las Vegas from May 28 to July 17, 2024, with the Main Event running from July 3 to July 17. This is just a shot in the dark, but if anyone is interested in joining up or staying together to talk strategy, save $$ on hotel costs, or just experience the WSOP together, then PM me.
This is my first time going and will be there from 6/26 - 7/3. Planning on playing during the following dates and events:
6/27 - Salute to Warriors
6/28 to 7/1 - Collossus (or other poker tournys on the strip with good structure)
7/2 - Mini Main Event
My gf was considering going but I have no idea if that'll work out. This is my first time going to play and that's a pretty likely type schedule I was considering although I was looking at the $800 deepstack and monster stack if it aligned right. I was considering trying to find someone for the tag team event from 2+2 cause my buddy is a bitch and dropped out. Figured what the hell.
PM and we can chat
i know this is a long shot, but......
i'm looking for 1 or more players who may be driving to/from WSOP 2024 from texas and wanting to stay around 2 weeks or so. i am driving out there due to fear of flying & medical issues, and need another person(s) to drive with. i (42m) will be staying with a buddy of mine (25m), at horseshoe. we are chill, no partying on the strip, no slots/pits, just focus on poker during trip like real poker junkies. we have gone for a few years now and really enjoy the se

Why do these posts sound like the beginnings of a future Dateline episode lol?
hmm...on second thought. Nice catch Fly.
Yeah in general wouldn't recommend rooming with people you meet on public forums. Add in having a ton of cash to buy into tournaments and it's just an all around bad idea.
Came here to say get Caesar's diamond status if you haven't already. 12 nights at horseshoe booked for $150 total out the door due to a promo + no resort fees. Not $150/night. $150 total for 12 nights.

Sorry if that already has been answered, but how can I get that?
I have it through my Wyndham Rewards Business credit card. A lot of people have it through Founders Card but FC has stopped their agreement with Caesars so that’s no longer an option. The only other way I know of is to gamble a bunch.
I’m guessing the guy who made the post is prepping to share a link to Founders Card since then he’ll get a discount off of his. But again, they no longer work with Caesars and the poster may not be aware of that.
There’s an extremely long thread in Las Vegas Lifestyle about Diamond status and how to get it.
Lot of guys wait until Caesar’s does their 5x or even 10x points weekends and go hit the slots hard and basically get Diamond in a Day easy. Not sure how often they run 5x/10x promotions.

I'm in the process of getting that Wyndham business card. They sure are taking their sweet time though! But the benefits of the status and tier matching look incredible.

This. Haven't booked yet, but I'll likely be staying at the Flamingo, for even cheaper.

I had to call them a few times when I first got it last year. I can’t remember what the issue was but they wanted to talk to me via phone. I don’t know if they just wanted to make sure I was legit or what.
As an aside, is Wyndham Rewards worth having for its own sake? Should I match my Caesars Rewards status with them?
Ok so you get some kind of card, Wyndham or otherwise, that gets you Diamond Status. That doesn’t mean you’re necessarily getting comped rooms or unreal room deals. That would be based on play, right? Sure, you’ll get Resort Fee waived and parking or whatever is standard benefits, but room rates and/or comped rooms are based on play, not whether you suddenly show up as Diamond because you got a new credit card.

room rates are based on play. but even with minimal play you should get pretty cheap rooms at a lot of caesars properties s-thurs. fri and saturday rates are usually way higher.

No resort fees, no parking fees, no wait for cash games if there’s a list, expedited line for WSOP registration, $100 food voucher, and four free nights per year in Bahamas.
I get comped room offers and discounted room rates but I’m sure if I gambled more, I would get better comps.
I literally only play at WSOP every year and nothing else Caesars related. I was able to book my room at Paris for a week for $200 total, after taxes and everything. Could have stayed the week at Flamingo for $50 but wanted a nicer hotel and closer to WSOP. I’m continuing to check every day for lower rates (they change frequently) and hope to get the week for closer to $150. Oh and I get free suite upgrades at check-in time if any are available.
All because I got a new credit card.
Dr Meh.
BINGO, you summed it up nicely. If FC doesn't renew with Caesars I'll just go the wyndham card route myself

This is incredibly helpful! Thank you for sharing. I would love to get the Caesars diamond status but it looks like only the Business tier of that card gets you Diamond. There’s a Plus tier of the card that will get you Platinum status but I don’t think that gets you the good room rates at Paris or the ability to jump the cash game lines. (Is that correct?) To get the Business tier of the card, and the Diamond status, do you have to actually own a business, or can just anyone get the card? Thanks again for telling us about this card!

I think Platinum gets some discounts on room rates but Diamond is better. And yes, the line jumping and exclusive lines are for Diamond and above.
You have to own a business to get it. I had just started an LLC right around the time I found out about the card so it worked out well for me. It doesn’t have to be a large business or anything. A simple startup will do.

room rates aren't impacted by card status.
you can't jump lines with platinum.
Pretty sure they are. If I try to book a room without logging in to my rewards thing, the rates are fairly higher than when I log in.
As an aside, I just cancelled me week at Paris for $200 in favor of the now $160 total for the week. It pays to keep checking!
Poker player punts $500 worth of equity cold peeling 4 bet for 8bb with 22 pre.
Spends 15 hours a week refreshing website to rathole $40.

They use ADT (Average daily theoretical loss) to determine comps, which is basically how many hours of each game type x casino edge (or rake paid in poker) x average bet (if table games or slots, etc.)
That gets them how much you are worth to them on a daily basis, and that determines comps and room rates.
