Superuser Caught on GGPoker - "MoneyTaker69" Thread
User "MoneyTaker69" is alleged to be superusing on GG Poker.
In December, Moneytaker won at 90bb/100 on GG Poker in 8,900 hands playing 53% VPIP. Soon after, he binked a $150 Sunday MTT for $47,586 while playing an extremely volatile strategy, which aroused a lot of suspicion. GG Poker has acknowledged the situation privately and is preparing to address it, but it's important for the public to know immediately due to the significance of superusing.
The Results
The following results graph comes from Smarthand, a site that tracks online poker results. MoneyTaker won at 90bb/100 in December playing 53/17.
Typically, a player with this VPIP/PFR ratio would be in the -50bb/100 range. Even if we were impossibly generous and said he was breakeven, this run would be a statical anomaly. For a -50bb recreational? Impossible.
Here is a primedope simulation of the probability of a breakeven player having this run.
The following is a simulation of possible runs for a player with a given winrate using primedope's variance calculator. The light blue line at the top of the graph represents the "Best" run, which is the luckiest run a person could have in 1,000 trials.
This is a -50bb player playing 9000 hands. Their luckiest run is around -10 buyins. Mokeytaker won 77 buy-ins.
Additionally, MoneyTaker won a $150 GG Masters Sunday MTT, which is a big open field tournament. This makes the possibility of chip dumping or targeting specific players with a virus much less likely.
The Hands
The following hands were collected by various users as examples of likely foul play.
How is he cheating?
Based off his play, the most natural explanation is that he can see the cards. He rarely puts in money significantly behind or calls the river with the worst hand. Also, his winrate is so high that RTA could not possibly explain it.
It's unclear how he's able to see others' cards, and it's possible he's not the only one exploiting a glitch in the system. A post on 2+2 highlighted a group of suspicious accounts that played for brief stints and won for >30bb/100, which is particularly difficult on GG due to their rake structure.
https://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showp...
There is no clear evidence that the players highlighted in the above post are superusing, but it's not unreasonable to suspect that this could be a larger issue at scale if done by hackers that want to be less obvious than running >50% VPIP.
Hacker Group
"MoneyTaker" is a hacker group. It's unclear if this account is in any way associated with them or if it's just incidental, but worth mentioning.
What's Next?
As a community, we await GG Poker's response. I'm confident they'll do the right thing and share everything they know about this incident shortly.
Another GGPoker SuperUser alert: Still active and playing right now!
User: GaiatinhoR9 (GGNetwork) (Brazilian player lol)
I have posted the handhistory where the player over calls 25bbs with 45 off very late in the tournament and hits straight on river in a huge pot when i have Aces ( player timed out for more than 30 seconds most likely to look at his all in equity) then called. He previously won the mystery bounty box (22k plus players a week earlier).
So you propose this guy has info about the upcoming cards? lol, the superuser reveal has really given fuel to the fire of anyone who doesnt understand variance and random luck from donks.
Don't worry though they have a new mouth piece already signed. Times must be so tough when someone like Fedor cares so little that he is willing to sign with them.
Who's a better security guy...fedor or nanonoko
Can someone explain how are poker players qualified to judge the highly technical software security outside of providing PR for money?
Do you think Fedor will really show transparency and reveal how much he is getting paid to be a public ambassador?
Fedor was already part of the council so I dont understand what the point even is of that tweet.. Koon was the leader and Holz (along with Nick Petrangelo, LuckyChewie and Seth Davies) were members. So why he announces it now as if something has changed just makes 0 sense.
Hopefully Koon comes out with something more substantial about why he parted, but Im not counting on it. His silence during the superuser debacle makes me believe he had an agreement where he is not allowed to speak about GG negatively while employed by them, and most likely is still under NDA after stepping down.
Player bet calls turn with 3 high and binks gutter on the river. Player refunded the money claims GG refunded due to player exploiting bug. I know the amount in the hand doesn't match but I would guess they played other hands together over the session hence the different if he is telling the truth.
Konspzia plays rush and cash and shows up on the $1/2 leaderboard most days this month, so easy enough to track if he disappears from the site altogether.

He is still playing so looks like this is nonsense.
Exploiting what “bug” exactly?
I do not assume that anyone cheated in the following hand, but I notice many similar hands on GGPoker where someone goes all-in with a completely random hand and ends up having the nuts. Obviously, recreational players can be more unpredictable, especially in bomb pots.
There is a red envelope promotion on GG where, regardless of whether you fold your cards or not, you still receive the same bonus money. In the next hand, a reg raised with 64s, another player went all-in, and the reg snap-called, ending up with the nuts. Is there any logical explanation?
I guess he put them both on AK?
Weird one for sure - any way to ask the reg why he snap called?
Yeah, Mike Postle probably plays online now. I guess he didn't understand how these promo hands work because he opened 10bb, which is typically used in bomb pots. Additionally, SB was a rec who called this raise, indicating a possible pocket pair. This makes his call even worse. (Of course, he might have considered that the SB usually auto-folds and assumed he was up against AQ/AK type of hands, but I don't think he thought about this within that 1s.)
Just a normal day on GGpoker. I'm not surprised.
Ok that hand is suss AF.
"It's just a fish doing crazy things, riggie!"
He got it in good vs the Queens
Do you also notice hands where someone goes all-in with completely random hands, but doesn't hit? If this never happens, or happens much less than 80-20, that would be interesting. If it happens like 70-30 instead it could be collusion by card sharing, if 0-100 then it's a superuser.

No 0-100 is a stupid superuser. Roughly 50-50 is a bright superuser.
Honestly, I don't remember, especially not from those who play every day, but people always remember those hands when someone does something strange and wins rather than when they lose. Since then, I have played against the above regular several times; occasionally, he plays strange hands, but not ones that could be judged as cheating in any way.
I was just about to make a thread about this. I've never been one to put on the tinfoil hat, but between all the different exploits found in GGPoker software over the past few years and the fact that Pokerstars had an exploitable RNG during the early days (cira 2002-2005) which was reverse engineered so that hackers could predict the community cards that would come out, it really begs the question.
I just had the same weird precedent happen to me, and this is following a strangely consistent pattern of villains calling off and spiking with random hands in the past month when I shove all-in preflop with plenty of fold equity (ie, ~76s calling off 20bb for 50%+ of their stack and spiking a straight). It's been mentioned as happening to others in Facebook groups, as well, and only in regards to GG.
Cutoff has a big stack and opens AQdd. (32 vpip, 21 pfr)
I squeeze ~22BB on the button with QJss.
SB has 25BB effective and also shoves with A8cc.
All three of us all-in. Board comes J92ssd. Turn 8d. River 8h.
If an improbable trend of this consistency throughout thousands of hands and experienced by multiple parties I know is actually legitimate, then I don't know what is considered cheating anymore.
Yes, it's totally "random". I've seen it too and i've played millions of hands. Some guy who has maybe sat at the table, zero aggression, nothing going on and then all of a sudden he is the ep and you are the bb. EP limps, you raise your AA on bb, EP goes all in, shows 94o and board comes 99944 and he quits. Happens everywhere but who is to say that it isn't someone abusing the system? Someone with enough access/knowledge could create dummy accounts and print money like that and no one would ever figure it out because it just doesn't show up when the commission that deals with checking the rng, does their checks. Because it doesn't cause enough noise.
After reading thoroughly this and other discussions on the topic, I withdrew my money and uninstalled their client.
Im new to poker, I take it seriously and study a lot. I deposited 150usd and withdrew 260. So their hole is hurting and not mine. The thing is that after scoring a ft, I started experiencing very very wei`rd things, in a very short time- dozens of times in 5 days immediatelly after I withdraw 120... (shoving AA vs A3 and board running Q82,4 AND 5 / KK vs A3 and hitting 3 and 3 t and r etc.)
But nevertheless, I did a little experiment today. I withdrew last 140, left 5 bucks to play one last daily deepstack...
First hand: I open from CO J8CLUBS, BTN calls. Flop comes QT9 with 2 diamonds 1 club. Classic Set up. I start laughing and make an overbet 150%pot. Snap calls. Turn is of course a diamond, I BET THE REST (MISTAKE) SNAP CALLS EVERYBODY LAUGHS EXCEPT ME. I cant fold this hand, I know Im fish, but thats not my point. It just feels sooooooo many times that you live a simulation in a way ... You cant do anything if gg decides you are out.
Yesterday started mtt, doubled 2 times, and then, 110min card dead(starting stack again...). 5-10 minutes before late reg ends, I knew what will follow, as this happens as a script after my first 120e withdraw. AND GGPOKER DIDNT FAIL ME,folds to me KTspades SB, BB calls , I lose to J5o with AQ3+5+5........... notice that its like some boards are made to induce you.
Sorry for my rant, Im not tilted at all, Im actually very happy for 2 reasons
1. with your help plus my experience , I now get it 1000%
2. I won >0.1usd so I anally exploited them and not the other way around.
I just hope for people to unite and sue the rotten souls out of them, whore sperm scammers.

wat? This was never a thing?

Stuff like sperm scammers is just the thing that I expect from a person believing online poker is rigged.
